First there was the brain-pruning chaos of SXSW. I tried to write a few things from Austin , but I kept getting either bbq sauce or dried blood all over my keyboard. And then I went to China, Hong Kong and Singapore (grilled snake is delicious) while Scott finished his solo record. Tried to write from those places too, but every time I sat down to type I felt stupid for being in my room instead of out looking at stuff. Now I am back and we are getting our double album mastered and doing the final edits on our first video. Yes, we used the power of the internet to rope an award-winning Beijing director to shoot the Prairie Cartel video for peanuts. I think we might have sold him a time-share in Sarasota as well. Of the ten songs we sent him, he selected No Light Escapes Here, so that is probably our first single. Does that even mean anything anymore? I guess it just means the video goes on youtube and we hope the petty little Ayatollahs that run the blogs throw us a crumb between jizzing over the latest reverb rock. That is correct, I decree reverb rock as a genre. Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts, Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Crocodiles. Dum Dum Girls, Trailer Trash Tracys, Wavves, Arch M, etc. all praying to everything Jesusy and Marychainy. Everybody sounds like they are recording at the other end of a sewage tunnel. Hey bands, over here! Please come closer! What are they all hiding from...

Oh cool, I really looking forward to the (double) album.
Will the stuff from your EPs be on the album or will this be all fresh stuff?

I sent them an email, this is what they said:

"It will be 17 songs on double vinyl with a free digital download if you go that route. Or you can get it at iTunes if you are turntable free. Yes, some of the EP songs will reappear in different mixes, but that still leaves you with like, 12 or 13 new songs..."

Well, there will be different mixes of some stuff from the EPs, but also 12 or 13 songs that were not from them.
