To further enhance N.Y.C.'s Goth scene and culture, New Goth City declares, on this day, June 17th, 2009, that the north-east section of the East Village (E.Vill.) and Alphabet city as GOTHTOWN.
The area in question spans from 14th Street to E. Houston Street and from Broadway/Lafayette to Avenue C (see map below). This cozy and historical neighborhood already boasts such great destinations such as The Vampirefreaks Store, Gothic Renaissance, Halloween Adventure, The Strand Bookstore, Obscura Antiques & Oddities, The Baroness' Fetish shop, Trash & Vaudeville, The Merchant House Museum, a slew of great bars and clubs, and much, much more!!! Plus, you will surely see more goth businesses crop up in the near future in this area...this we can assure you!
So next time you want to spend time in YOUR neighborhood it will be in Gothtown!
