I'm with Public Enemy - Burn Hollywood, Burn! Over the past 30 years of my life I have seen nothing but stereotypes coming out of Hollywood and mainstream media.



After the enemy assassinated our Black leaders in the 60's & 70's they filled the vacuum with Black exploitation movies, called: Blaxploitation. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blaxploitation). Hollywood glorified Pushers, Pimps and Prostitutes. The enemy then flooded our community with guns and drugs.

Then in the late 80's, early 90's the enemy attacked conscious rap; Public Enemy, Tribe Called Quest and Poor Righteous Teachers to name a few. They replaced it with gangsta and thug rap. Once again the Black community was deluged with the gospel of self hate, disrespect of the Black woman and consumerism. Hollywood coupled that attack on the Black community with movies like; Colors, New Jack City and Menace II Society. They attacked Afrocentric Education, Ebonics and Black leaders like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and they continue to do so till this very hour.

Now today they have another line of propaganda movies and documentaries focused on making Blacks and the world see young Black men as the real American Gangsta.
* BET has a series called the American Gangsta,
* Denzel Washington played in a movie called the American Gangsta,
* Jay-Z produced an CD called the American Gangsta, even the
* History Channel (Gangland) and
* National Geographic (Bloods and Crips: L.A. Gangs) are apart of the propaganda machine. The goal of the enemy is to manipulate young Black (and Latino) men into believing they are the American Gangstas.

What is waiting for them for their failure to see the trick and believing in the hype; Death or maybe worst, Prison Industrial Complex where they become modern day SLAVES.
