what the
Hell is going on
when an eigth grade girl gets detention for hugging two friends goodbye
after school
Reprimanded for showing love
Prescribed discipline will hide her away
society, school telling her not to express emotion
hide your feelings
act this way
kids taught not to love, not to hate
not to feel
they'll curl up into hard shells, unbreakable
but hard
like the rest of the plastic world
but humans feel
those feelings will swell and swirl inside these barbie and ken boxes
melted molded plastic not enough to stop them
the feelings will escape the plastic body forms and the packaging
however they can
with a force so strong
it knocks all of the other boxes off the shelves
hard, maybe
unbreakable?
we'll see what happens
plastic pieces skattered everywhere
