UNITY 101...

UNITY IS THE COMING TOGETHER OF THINGS IN COMMON

I.  What Unifies us?  What do we have in common?

-Age

-Family

-School

-Lifestyle / Class (middle-class, no one is super rich or dirt poor)

-Desire to become a better person

-Desire to become a better Christian

-Burden for Others?

-We are a Youth Group

II.  What do youth Groups DO?

-Attend the same Church

-Pray for each other

-Attend church functions together

-Spend time together

-Have a sense of Belonging

-Talk good about each other to each other

-Talk good about each other to others

-Encourage those Inside the youth group

-Encourage those Outside the youth group

-Take road trips

-Observe each other grow Spiritually

III. Unity is when a Group revolves around the same Goal or Purpose. Every member of the group must Work towards the same purpose.

IV.  Unity exists when all the Individuals are in agreement. Unity exists when Individuals are made to look like they Belong Together, not as though they have been placed Randomly.  No stragglers.  No one left behind.

V.  Psalms 133:1    "Behold, how Good and how Pleasant it is for brethren to Dwell together in Unity."

VI.  Ephesians 4:1-3    "Live your life worthy of the calling of God.  With Humility and gentleness and patience, showing Love for one another.  Being diligent to keep the Unity of the Spirit in the bond of Peace." 

VII.  John 17:20-21    "Father, I pray for them that they might continue to have Oneness the way that You are in me, and I am in You."
