So this quote was presented to me by Michael Dadourian after I told him that if pursuing your dream meant that people you thought had your back were all of a sudden gonna turn on you, then I didn't think I could do it because I bruise easily. Well he set me straight and I appreciate the reminder that through the adversities of life we tend to find out just how strong we actually are.  So, even though I am extremely late in posting this...let's focus the rest of this month on trying to make the best of whatever adversity that life throws at us.

Leave me some posts about some significant or recent adversities you have overcome.  Or maybe if you have a problem that you would like some input on you can post it.

My announcement this month is that I got this acting part in the play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf".  I am playing the Laby in Blue!  I am so geeked, you have no idea, and this just after Michael told me not to give up on my dreams....it was just such a nice way to end a day. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your month.

Honestly, I tend not to tell people my goals. I already know most sisters around here will look at me like I've grown a third head if I annouced "Guess what! I'm going to take a double major in Radio broadcast and print journalism so I can work for a music mag or a radio station, because for as long as I can remember I've wanted to be involved with music in some way and being married to an artist isn't enough." Hell, half of them probably already think I'm crazy as it is because I don't just accept what someone tells me I should do (I was raised that sheep were meant for eating). So I keep my mouth shut. Sucks I can't talk about it to people I know here without them passing judgement on me. I think there's a tiny handful of sisters who I feel free to just talk to (you're one...sorry I don't call more..I suck at calling people *hugs*) that live in this area. The rest are all over the country (which explains why I spend more time online than hanging with people).

I don't think I have any adversities I've overcome, except my absolute FEAR of meeting new people (especially in groups) by going to the Go club sunday...BY MYSELF. I swear I spent the entire time not looking anyone in the eye with my face beet red and burning hot (they probably think I'm a spaz).


Congrats on the part! That's awesome (I use that word too much..I swear I'm reverting to a 17 year old). *hug* You seem so much happier than you did a while ago. I've been meaning to tell you that.

alhamdulillah...I'm getting better and better at acting on a REGULAR basis....I am glad that I am fooling people though because in my case misery does NOT love company...
