You may have seen my recent bulletin and blog on the subject of Sub-Zero Designers. Thank you Natasha, for posting the original bulletin about B.R., excerpt reprinted here:

"The fashion world is introducing subzero sizes. Who can actually wear them?
Couture designers and mainstream retailers like Banana Republic are offering new supersmall 'less than zero' sizes. But who can wear these micro clothes? Here's a look at celebrities, past and present, who might just fit the bill."

SUB-ZERO?!?
Is it not bad enough that millions of females already strive to be a ZERO? (That's 0, zip, NADA, nothing.) Now, they'll be aiming to be LESS than nothing. Great.
The Nov. 14 death of model Ana Reston-

123PicHosting.com has garnered global attention. But, how long will this concern last and what is anyone going to do about it? In countries such as Spain and Brazil, the fashion industry is being held accountable - outlawing the use of runway models who are dangerously thin, or below a certain body mass index. Will the runways of New York follow suit? Not likely, unless the consumers demand it.
You, the consumer, have power. You have a voice and it comes from your wallet. You know what this Friday is and how desperately retailers depend on you in the next month to keep them afloat the rest of the year. Make a statement with your purchases and gift-giving.
I want to see the women in my world happy and healthy - not dying to fit into a 00 pair of jeans. Banana Republic (owned by The Gap) now offers a 00 size on almost all of their clothes. The waist measurement for a 00 is 23 inches. The Gap's 0 is 23 and 1/4 inches. So, although the Gap does not call it less than zero, it's pretty damn close and it still sends the same message to women and young girls: "You are nothing unless you are nothing."
For that small percentage of women who ARE naturally that size, I am certainly not criticizing you. Genetic design is not a choice, but clothing design is. I simply have a dream to live in a world where a woman will be judged not by the size of her jeans, but by the content of her character.
SAY NO TO SUB-ZERO! Please pass on this message to all of your friends. Encourage the girls in your life to sharpen their minds, not their collar-bones.
Join me in boycotting The Gap and its subsidiaries (B.R., Old Navy, Forth and Towne and Piper Lime) this shopping season. Let them know why you are boycotting them. I don't expect anyone to eliminate the size 0, that's probably here to stay. But, until they discontinue all 00 clothing, I will not make any purchases from any Gap Inc. retailer.
AND, I hope to take it to the streets. If you are in L.A. and you are interested in picketing with me at any time over the next month, please contact me ASAP. I hope my friends who are elsewhere might organize as well.
Much love and enjoy your turkey.
