What is roller derby then?
Roller Derby is a contact roller sport that is played with two teams of five girls competing against one another. Points are scored when the JAMMERS pass the BLOCKERS and PIVOTS of the opposing team. It sounds complicated but it’s not, and once you start watching, you'll realise what an exciting and entertaining sport it is.
With more than 9,000 players registered internationally, Roller Derby is one of Britain's fastest-growing grassroots sports. Hosts league, the Middlesbrough Milk Rollers have been playing derby since 2007 and they think now is the time it hits Teesside. HARD.
