Voldi Way, that is, at
WayForward Technologies! Last summer I mentioned interning with this awesome video game company (and introducing some of its employees to wizard rock), and now I'm working for them as a 2D artist! While I can't talk about most of what we do until it gets released, I can let you guys know about one amazing game that I got to be a part of:
A BOY AND HIS BLOB! A remake of an old NES classic, coming out for Wii! It bounced into the
E3 game convention and got nominated for Best In Show, and people are BUZZING! The most popular feature? This little gem has a button SPECIFICALLY for hugs. That's right, a hug button. Talk about the weapon being love! You can see sneak peeks and read more about it here:

When I'm not being a gamer girl, I'm working at my local community college, helping to reform our animation/broadcast//filmmaking/journalism/sound design department. Which is basically just the long, wordy way to say OH MY GOD, I get to help inspire the generations of media artists to come through the school! The most exciting part is the fact that our whole curriculum is going to revolve around getting students in touch with the industry earlier, making it more hands-on, and offering them a chance to dive head-first into 'the biz.'
Even though I've been buzzing around, flightier than a snitch, I WAS able to slip away and catch The Half Blood Prince. While I have a few small beefs with the movie (when did it become
Narcissa Malfoy and the Half Black Hair?!?!?!), the overall presentation was beautiful. The way they bundled up Voldy's past, the perfect blend of humor, adventure, and darkness... and the effect used for the pensieve was GORGEOUS! It was so nice to sit back and appreciate a Potter movie for the -artistry- involved, rather than JUST how closely it stuck to the books.
So what about music. Music, music, how I miss you. So many of you guys have been asking where I am, you have no idea how much that means to me! I'm slowly but surely assembling another set of songs, most of them HBP-inspired, and I can't wait to unleash them. And now that my schedule's looking a little more regular, I'm hoping to start up the WereWrock Podcast again. I get a wrock craving every time the full moon shines.... I promise I'll keep you updated!
So enough from me, I want to hear from YOU guys! I've missed you all so much! Come sit with me, my loves. Have a spot of tea or pint of butterbeer or a tuck of gin, and let's dish. Questions, comments, opinions, GO!
Werewolf hugs (it's been so long since I've typed that!),
Jessie!
