First, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for supporting Hayden over the last year by coming to shows and listening to his music. And secondly, to let you know that Hardwood Records is proud to announce the release of Hayden’s 6th full-length album.
The Place Where We Lived will be available in your favorite record stores and on-line on Tuesday May 26th 2009.
If you’ve been a Hayden fan for a while, your question will probably be, “That was fast…!?” It’s a good question. This is the quickest follow up record of his career. After spending most of the last year on the road, Hayden decided to enlist good friend Howie Beck to help him make a quick, inspired follow-up to In Field & Town.
Fitting in sessions between U.S headlining tours and his Canadian arena tour supporting Feist, the two musicians pieced together the new record with the help of many friends including Cuff The Duke, and Holly Throsby.
You can pick up the first single, also entitled The Place Where We Lived by pre-ordering the album from iTunes* starting May 12th plus a bonus track with the album: Hayden’s version of The National’s "Slow Show." Or if you want a hard copy of the album in a beautiful embossed digi-pak with a lyric booklet, you can pre-order from MapleMusic.com and receive a poster and post card.
Have a great Spring.
NOTE: *The Place Where We Lived will also be released through iTunes U.S., Europe, Australia and the rest of the world, as well as on other digital sites. Details to be confirmed. Vinyl is coming as well (including a digital download card); approximate release date is late June. We'll let you know soon!
