First of all, thanks to everyone who bought the new single or requested the new song on the radio. We are glad you like the song, and we appreciate your continued support. We are working hard on the rest of the album, and we really hope you will like it.

To the people who are still on the fence, we appreciate your suspending judgment until you hear more. Yes, of course it is different. With each new album, the goal is to reinvent ourselves, and with a new singer on board as well, of course it is going to be different. The challenge of creating something new is what keeps music exciting, and we hope you like what we create together with Chandler. This album has been a great experience for all of us so far.

The reality of music is that it is subjective. There are no rights or wrongs. You may not even be able to explain why you like one song and not another. On top of that, most people's tastes change over time. That said, there will naturally be some people who liked the old group that do not like the new one. We are sorry to see any of our fans go, but we wish you well and hope that you find new music that you are passionate about. There will also be people who never liked the band before that will like it now, and we welcome those new fans.

Such is choice. If you don't like what you are listening to, you can choose to listen to something else. You have the freedom to choose what music you love.

Kevin Matisyn has parted ways with Evans Blue. When people part ways, it is never easy, but it seems to us to have been a pretty smooth transition, considering. Kevin has a new band and a solo project on the way; he is making the music that he wanted to make, and we are making the music that we wanted to make. We absolutely wish him the best. Why can't both Kevin and Evans Blue be successful with their new projects? It's not an either/or.

There will be people that like the music of both bands, people that like neither band, and people that like one band or the other. Four possible choices: now make yours and move on. We do not condone negative attacks on either side of this "fence," and we choose not to post any negative comments on the fan sites that we control. We also do not condone comparisons between the two singers. We believe they are both good singers.

All we would ask is that everyone please refrain from any more negativity -- it is pointless. Decide what you like and don't like, and focus on what you like. Let's all move forward. Peace.

I totally agree. People who attack bands for being different are completely stupid and ignorant. They're selfish and only think about what they want and not what the bands want.....I will admit I was sad when I heard that Kevin left, but I wasn't outraged. I just figured you'd find yourselves a new singer and move on with your lives, and you have. And so far, I like what you guys are doing. I've listened to Kevin's stuff and they're great as well. I like both of you.....I'll always be an Evans Blue fan, because you guys aren't just a regular band to me, you guys are an inspiration, and the band minus Kevin isn't going to change that.

Well stated. This is pretty much what I've been saying to peoples comments. Like on facebook for instance, I just tell people to wait and not judge anything based on one song. But anyway, I wish you guys luck with finishing the new album.
However, I was wondering, are you going to incorporate any of the old music at all or is it a complete renovation and the tour will be entirely the new album? Later!

I'm suspending judgement. You're right. It is different. I think we all expected that, but different doesnt mean"good" in the eyes of everyone; and for me, I haven't heard anything that I really like... yet... from either EB or Kevin... but I'm sticking around to see what happens!

Well said. For the record, I enjoy the new single with the new sound, and hope the record is overall just as good. I also enjoy Kevin Matisyn's solo work and his new band. I'm not on either side of the fence; I chose to tear it down.

You said it perfectly!!! I am so glad that you posted this... I completely agree with what you said, (but I think you knew that already...) I AM and WILL be a fan of BOTH! Change is a given, and it leads us to the exact direction we really want to go whether we realize it at the time or not... very classy words and attitude! "Why can't both Kevin and Evans Blue be successful with their new projects? It's not an either/or."~~ End the freakin' band wars... It's childish, and everyone should spend their time enjoying, or not, ;) the subjectivity of music! I look at this as getting a whole new music collection of brand new faves, from all my fave musicians.....Always a fan... EB changed my life, for sure... and life is still changing!!! Good Luck to All.....Love~

....while i like the new song and think there is a good chance i will like other music put out by you guys i am almost positive that i will not the new lead singing any of the old stuff. it's not fair to say you don't condone comparisions between the two singers if you guys plan on rocking out to the old stuff with chandler. if the old songs are going to be incorporated there is going to be no getting around people comparing the two. part of the connection i had with the old evans blue music was the voice and sound behind it. i don't think anyone could replace that and be satisfactory to me. however, i'm totally down with listening to anything new. i have an open mind to anything new, especially in the music i listen to.....so i suppose i'm just worried that in concert ya'll are gonna be playing the old stuff and i'm gonna get turned off before i even get into the new sound. i think you all are a very talented bunch. kevin and chandler can both sing and do it well...they just have two very different sounds and it makes sense to move in a new direction that is right for the current evans blue memebers. at the end of the day you gotta be true to yourself and do what's gonna make you happy, not the masses. ....i agree with everything else you said though. everyone can be successful with what they are working on now and people shouldn't concentrate on the negativity. life has so many more important things to worry about and negative energy is a just a waste of time.....

well said guys, i'll be the first to admit I was really harsh when Kevin was first moved out of the band...and it truly is a different band different sound now. I wish you boys the best as always and dont take this the wrong way because its not cutting down the new band at all, but I'm really hoping that more of the new music will be more distuishable. And once again I'm not cutting you guys down at all...but now I can't seem to pick EB out of the crowd from other bands on the radio...i'm hoping the rest of the album is a little more abstract than this first single. I like the single i really do, sometimes i find myself singing it...but when I hear it I can't decide if its EB...Taproot...or a band that sounds like the rest. Like I said i like the song and I appreciate you guys as a band, and I'll always listen to your music because honestly it feels like i've been brought up in a way by your guy's music. I'm just hoping for maybe some more imagery in the music something deeper than what has been shown by the first single. But all in all quality song, So please dont take my comment the wrong way.

True story, guys. I personally was a huge fan of the old E|B and am waiting to see what the upcoming album holds. When I heard of the split I wanted to cry, especially with new music on the horizon.....It is definitely possible for both E|B and Parabelle to coexist and excel, at least as far as I'm concerned, and I hope both do. I'm interested in seeing what you guys do for shows (Regarding past music) and I'm (im)patiently waiting for the new CD to come out. Don't let me down. ;)....The one thing I've been wondering about is why you chose to keep the same E|B tag.
Does anyone have a rhyme or reason given for that yet? Regardless, best of luck!

I agree with most of what you said. HOWEVER....It is impossible not to compare Kevin and Chandler. You don't have to talk trash about one to make the other look better, but I have been curious about who would fill Kevin's shoes since the first day of the schism. I will always compare Chandler to Kevin, for better or worse.....Chandler will have to be able to accept criticism and comparisons. IF he can't he's in the wrong business.....I like the new single and am eager to hear more. I like the first two albums and I'm sure this will be just as good, different, but good.......P.s.

Hey guys, I've been a huge fan since I returned home in 2005 from my first deployment to Iraq. I've never heard a band like the original Evans Blue nor have I ever loved a certain sound of music so much either. Prior to this, I've never posted anything on this or any site. It sounds like ya'll have received a lot of negative criticism and comparison since going through this change, but I have to say, surely you had to see this coming. As creative and talented as you guys are, you had to see the originality and specific sound that made you guys so good and inherently how different you sound now. As for myself, I'm still on the "fence" as you put it after hearing the new single. I just hope the new album isn't THAT different from the Evans Blue I know and love. All in all though, congrats on moving forward through the change and doing what you love. I wish you guys and Kevin nothing but good fortune for the future.

I'm fine with the parting ways deal... as much as it pains me, your individual happiness is what's important. The issue that I personally have is that Evans Blue to me was a sound, it was the band together and without the voice of Kevin, it just doesn't ....sound.... like Evans Blue to me. Don't get me wrong, the new single sounds good, but I think it needs a new name. Somehow I think a lot of people are going to have problems getting past that mental image. ........Keep chugging along, though. There's definitely some promise. Who knows what the future will bring.

..i'm definitely looking forward to seeing what the man can do before I make a final call. A big part of the appeal Evans Blue always held for me was the combination of awesome instrumentals with Kevin's voice. I'm really looking forward to seeing how each aspects of the former Evans Blue adapt to the changes (working with different musicians, and a different singer respectively). I'm excited.
