It is hard to conceive of any remedy more effective in subduing the ill effects of sleep deprivation and alcohol abuse than the warm waters of Chico Hot Springs in Pray Montana. I sit here poolside at Chico, grateful for sunglasses and Tylenol, attempting to mend the impact of our last show of summer tour. Our Northwest run has now reached its end after three weeks of shows stretching across Montana, Idaho and Eastern Washington.

To risk offending our California constituents, there is probably not a collection of people more attuned to make us and our unique brand of music, feel more welcomed than the folk of Western Montana and Northern Idaho. With many a 'Yee Haw' we successfully rocked the proverbial socks off of anybody who happened to stumble within a three-mile radius. Just ask anyone who attended our Miller's Crossing show on August 9th. "It was probably the best show I've ever seen them play." commented Josh Garcia, professional salsa dancer and long time Ten Mile Tide fan. Miller's Crossing was preceded by the Jammin' the Gulch Music Festival, where we were joined by such highly respectable musicians such as The Clintons (Bozeman, MT), The Clumsy Lovers (Vancouver B.C.) and New Monsoon (San Francisco CA).

We also added some new stops to our rooting including 'ZOLA!' (Spokane Washington), 'John's Alley' (Moscow ID) and the 'Great Northern Bar and Grill' (Whitefish MT); all of which we will be revisiting this fall during our CD release tour. (Visit our shows page for more information.)

We were blessed to feature two different people on fiddle this summer. The first half of our run we were joined by singer-songwriter/fiddle extraordinaire 'Mojoe' Kahroosi. Mojoe has been gracious enough to split time between us and his own music project, 'O Ser Opera' based out of San Diego CA. We were also reunited with our dear friend Steve Kessler for the final week of summer tour. Steve adds a unique dynamic to the group, both with his fiddle and his jaw-dropping physique. He'll be breaking hearts of Cougars everywhere when he settles down to marry this September. Keep an eye open this fall for our new Album entitled Riverstone. The release date is set for October 3rd in San Francisco, followed by a six-week west coast tour.

Well, I'm happy to announce that the pain in my liver is finally starting to subside and I believe I'm due for another dip in the hot springs. Myself and the rest of the band will be taking some time off before a jam-packed schedule this fall (check back for more updates). Jason and Justin will return to their existence of computer programming and 'magic the gathering. Knuckles is, well... he's still knuckles and we have left Jeff playing air guitar in the van. See all you good-for-nothing hippies this fall!!!

-Best Wishes!
Matt Mitchell

Doesn't it just make you want to move to MT? We'd love to have you as one of our residents!! Best hippie town is probably Missoula. Then you could be just within a day's drive of anything you could want to do. Think about it, seriously.
