well your right, cant argue w/ you miss claire, the smoking can be bad and who needs to add more carcinogens to their lives. i figured you have about same chance of dying driving on johnston st or hanging out in the caffe. Either way, death will find you. I know the big date is coming soon , wish you the best, hope you have a wonderful  wedding. :_) lou

Oh! The Horror...

are you getting the Seasonal Sam Adams as well? And I'll be there tomorrow to visit Eliana so I'll be indulging in your bar frequently until the 29th.

1) WATCH THE NEW CAFFE COTTAGE VIDEOS FLOATING AROUND!!! CONCERTS, HANGING OUT, ETC...(you can see a couple of them on my BLOG)
2)..and support more Caffe based musicians / bands by buying their CD's!!!!! (MattRock, Transmission, Frames, Wizards, Urban Groovz, Arbor Vitae, Direwood, etc 2 name a few...) Matter of fact, Lou, have their CDs available on site all the time!!!

That is a great idea.  We should have a big stack of local music at the caf.

serious?
ok.

expand either into moncla/dave maynard's space, or take over the other way. knock down the front of the other storefront to create an open-air front atrium that people have to walk through to enter the Caffe', either on the side where the broken ATM is, or by the stage. Brick up the existing doors that face W St Mary.

Berm the atrium by tearing up two parking spaces in front of the entryway and put in greenery so it isn't awful to sit there. Iron-wrought kinda thing and dissuade kids from sitting there by making up a bogus restriction: maybe prevent smoking? I don't know what kids are into these days. Anyway, this front area you make into a nice, hokey porch area for biz people to sit and eat sandwiches.

Take the part of the conquered storefront that isn't facing W St Mary, and turn it into and additional room; either for the pool table if there's really enough room, or sell the pool table to some STM kid. Give this room a dramatically different feel. If it's Dave's space, then a quiet room would be good for when there are shows. Create a wall that faces the interior of Caffe' out of soundproof glass so people don't do drugs or have sex in it.

Totally new bathrooms.

What's underneath that ramp to the main bathroom anyway? It used to extend both ways, right? Is that where you keep the guns, or can it be destroyed and replaced by a seating area that is on a different level than the main floor?

Tear down the part of the wall that divides the bar on the original side from the bar on the deliquents area side. Have one smooth continuous bar that snakes through both rooms so your baristas can be in both rooms at once. Keep the dividing wall on the other side.

Get rid of all your food that isn't local seafood type stuff, and replace with 14" pizzas that you sell by the slice. Create different types of pizzas, cook them up, and heat up the individual slice when someone orders it. Name the different types of pizzas after locals or obscure/representational celebrities and attach a picture to each one. The Jimmy. The Baby Lou. The Robert Goulet. The Marilyn Manson. The Kevyn Aucoin. Sell each slice for $1.50 to $2.50. Eight slices a pie.

Create a back patio in the back parking lot.

If you keep pool table, then rent the balls out to an individual and charge an hourly rate.

or, just keep it like it is but get new bathrooms.
