2009______________________________________________________________
Tour is over for some days now and most things are back to normal. We’ve
seen some new places on this tour (like Poland) which was very exciting. We
want to thank the people in Mouthbreather – John, Brandon, Chris, Tyler, John –
for sharing this tour with us and for all the fun we had. We hope to see you all
next year. Also big thanks to Brendan who took the chance to come over to
Europe for the first time and did the merch table most of the time. We hope all
of you had a great time. Thank you of course to Robert who did a great job
setting up a solid tour for us again, which we sometimes tend to forget J. And as every time the biggest thank you goes
out to the people who were willing to set up shows, who cooked, did entry,
cleaned up afterwards, showed us around their cities and let us sleep in their
beds and on their floors. Thank you!
The road goes on… and there already new plans. Thanks to Brendan of
Protagonist Music (www.myspace.com/protagonistmusic)
for his effort to bring us over to the U.S. east coast next summer again. We haven’t
been there since 2003 and we hope to meet old friends as well as make new ones.
There might be a small trip to the west coast for some shows as well, but we
have to see about that. Also we’re psyched about possibly going back to Russia,
the Ukraine and hopefully Belarus next spring. People seem to like the idea and
we hope this will happen.
As for “local activities” we will take it slow till the end of the year
for John is going to be a father soon. Shows will be reduced for this time, we
hope you understand. Instead we will hit the studio to record material for the
upcoming 10th anniversary 7” on Protagonist Music. It’s going to be
pretty fancy with lots of additional stuff and should see the light of day by
end of the year.
Hope you’re all well,
Uwe & Zann

So we’re back from Russia and the
Ukraine. It was truly an amazing experience. All this would have been
impossible or less exciting without the help and energy of people like: Alec,
Vova, Max, Olga, Anton, Stefan (Stepan?) and all the other people whose names I
forgot or never even knew who let us crash on their floors, showed us around
their cities, cooked food for us, gave us rides to train stations in the middle
of the night, helped us with existing language barriers in translating food
ingredients, road signs or train tickets, etc. – Thank you! Thanks must also go
out to the kids who danced at shows like there’s no tomorrow – it’s been some
of the best shows of our existence, no kidding! There’s soon going to be a
photo section and a short video clip for this adventure here on MySchissel, so
check back. And yes, we’d like to come back in the future if you want us to,
but only if Мавзолей Ленина will be open this time.
So long,
Uwe Zann

We just added some tour dates. We're
happy we'll be able to go to Russia, Ukraine and Belarus in late March. We're
really looking forward to this. Also there will be a European tour in September
with Mouthbreather from the U.S. You can listen to them here: www.myspace.com/mouthbreatherrva There are still quite a few
dates open on this tour. So if you want to help about with doing a show for us,
feel free to contact us either trough MyShit or at ZannMe@web.de

We’re back from tour for some days
now and everything is back to normal (unfortunately). We had a very pleasant
tour which is mostly due to Justin Gorlocks great planning and booking, thank
you very much dude! We also would like to thank Graf Orlock and Ghostlimb for
helping out with equipment and their van! To all the people who were setting up
shows, letting us crash on their floors, showing us around, telling jokes and
helping out in other ways; to the bands we played with, especially Drowning
with our anchors; to all old and new friends who showed up to give a hug and
have a small talk: You make it worth touring, Thank you!
We already uploaded a short tour
video. Pictures will follow soon. If you have pictures of the tour, from shows
or just from hanging out with us, and you would like to see them here, send
them to ZannMe(at)web.de or link them to our profile.
Shortly before the tour started we
got the Burial Year / Zann – Split 12”. If you don’t have it by now, go to www.bisaufsmesser.com or your local record store and get your copy. The four-way-split 12”
with Ghostlimb, Trainwreck and Perth Express will show up in the next weeks
hopefully. There are also T-Shirts and Hoodies with new designs available; so
check them out.
Right now we’re working on new
material which is supposed to come out next summer on Protagonist Records (www.myspace.com/protagonistmusic); we’re really happy to team up
with Brendan and Bill for this release. Also in late summer / autumn there will
be an European tour. We’ll keep you posted.
See you

Some news for you: We’ll be playing
Ieper Fest this year, which should be good. For that we’re searching a show for
the evening before (Friday, 22nd). If you’re doing a show and want us to play,
we’ll do it. Should be close to the West German border though.
Added the tour dates for the
upcoming Western U.S. tour in September. Some are still not 100%, so check back
every now and then. This one will be smooth with less driving between shows and
more sightseeing/shopping/being bored in between, yes!!! There will be many
shows with Graf Orlock and/or Comadre; we’re glad they can make it.
The split-12” with Burial Year will
be available in time for the tour, hopefully. Great tunes, great artwork, mucho
good! The 4-way-split with Trainwreck, Ghostlimb and Perth Express is delayed
because of artwork issues. Same goes for the Tour-DVD, sorry for keeping you
waiting (just in case there’s really someone waiting).
In other news: We might be coming to
Denmark and Sweden again in November to buy lots of Delicato bolls and play some shows, but we’ll
see about that.
Have fun, enjoy the summer, kiss the
road… we’ll see you there....

The recordings are finally mixed and
will be mastered for vinyl over the next days. You can hear some samples in the
updated player and the studio video. We’re really happy with the sound of the
recordings for the first time in years. Thanks again to Thomas (www.myspace.com/bestfriendmachine) for doing a great job and being
very patient with us.
The U.S. tour is almost completely
booked by now, few shows remaining to be confirmed. Prepare for a classic
three-week-trip throughout California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
The friendly people of Graf Orlock, Ghostlimb and Comadre will be sharing lots
of shows with us and we’re happy about that. The tour schedule will be posted
as soon as all dates are confirmed.
As for all the people who sent in
designs and suggestions for artwork after our bulletin: All has been reviewed,
but as always opinions are quite different and we can hardly decide. There are
some people whose designs are really outstanding and we will contact them soon.
For everyone else we’re SORRY for being lame assholes and not replying as fast
as intended.
Also the second installment of a
tour-dvd is coming soon. I’m in the final stages of putting the material
together and testing the dvd. Expect more than two hours of live performances,
tour clips, slideshows and some embarrassing bonus shit. The dvd and records
should be out before the tour starts but then again we’re really slow. So we
see what happens.
Meanwhile, have a great summer out
there and we’ll see you on the road.

So we recorded four songs last
weekend in Berlin with Thomas (http://www.myspace.com/screamoorgano ) which
will appear on the split records with Burial Year and Trainwreck, Comadre &
Ghostlimb. Everything went very smoothly and we look forward to the final
results of the mixing and mastering process which should be finished soon. The
artwork is in the works too. So hopefully we will have the records out in
summer just in time for festivals and the U.S. tour. We’ll keep you posted.

As of today we will no longer accept
“private” friend requests. We’re sick of finding out what asshole attitude this
or that user has just after we added him/her. You can see our profile, our
pictures, we want to see yours in return. And why some people still wonder why
they’re not added here’s a list of what will drop your chances below zero:
racist & sexist attitudes, tough guy & macho shit, nationalistic &
right-wing crap, profiles which are basically commercial advertising. Like it
or not.

Some changes on this side. Since we
don’t have an own webspace we decided to put up more content on our MySpace.
The blog will now serve as a very basic website structure, meaning each blog
will be a subdirectory with different content. Each of them will be updated
from time to time.
