Current mood:  awake

A life spent in cynicism. The previously unrecognised gift of
taking a word and making it mean whatever we choose. We see it now,
and, whats more, we know it now. We know that we can completely
disregard history and build a new one on top of it. We can forget it,
because we knew it was there. Somehow, we’ll find room to start all
over again. Take a deep breath and close the eyes. When reopened the
scenery will have completely changed to someone else’s liking. But not
our own. No, not our own. There’s no more working class, yet there is
still work ethic. The chance has been missed; I walked past it long
ago, not seeing it for what it was. This is because we are all lost. No
one knows what is meant to be significant or worthless, not for sure.
No one truly knows himself or herself, and therefore no one knows their
closest ally.

But we can worry about that later, worry about it when it really
matters, because we’ll always have room to start all over again. We but
not them, not them. Not them ahead of us and definitely not those
behind us, we forgot about them because we could. We built over them.
Supermarkets, shopping centres and malls all stand tall because the
point was lost, driven too far down a one-way street with no way to
turn back and a road that will disappear beneath us and we will fall.
Fall further beneath those we built over and forgot, and ensure that
those ahead of us don’t get a chance. We worried about it when we
thought it mattered. Too much time spent on being told what we should
know about hope, we never thought to question it for ourselves.
Question our greatest gift to ourselves. Well, you think in your mind,
if I don’t really know hope, then I must not know absolution. You’d be
right to think that. Would you? Nothing is right and nothing is wrong.
Confused? Hostility should do the trick, shouldn’t it? Too many
questions only to be answered by more of the blighters. Don’t worry
about it though. Just stick to your morals and be a good person. If we
are powerless as we are ignorant, we might as well smile……
