The WAW boys are back in the studio in their limited off hours working on some new WAW material. At the same time, a crew of our favorite undergorund producers are pushing out some hot remixes to push the dancefloor into overdrive at
your sister's sweet sixteen cocaine mega-party.
Since this is all talk for now... I decided to throw you a bone on the audio player... a track so vintage it's fresher than new.
Self - "What A Fool Believes"
This track, a cover of the Doobie Brothers classic, comes from
Gizmodgery, the 2000 studio concept album on Spongebath (RIP). Most people can't mention Gizmodgery without mentioning in the same breath that it was
recorded entirely on toy instruments. Where are those toy instruments now? Probably locked up in a pair of high security climate controlled storage units 32.5 miles outside Murfreesboro.
Thanks to Youtube and a few intrepid music historians, new evidence has come about that sheds some light on the origins of the original Doobie Brothers track. Check it out:
