Hello Once Friends

I got up this morning turn on my tv; I see Cnn and Bbc1 talking about fear in the London Airport and la..well there is so much shit going on in this world. We are still at war in Iraq, it's been more than 3 years. What are we doing there? Many innocent people are being killed there and we still haven't found the truth. I love my home of brixton uk, people from all over the world live together in one piece. This world is changing too fast because there are few leaders who think that modern democracy is the best. not everyone believes that. I love the usa but i don't know if i can trust the government and the foreign policy here..it's sad to say that, the uk is following in their footsteps. But i have faith in the people of england because they will speak up, we don't believe in war nor in bullying around impoverished countries. I have friends from all over including arab countries who don't share the fundamental views like those we hear about on tv. they also don't agree with the way america is handling things. America cannot promote democracy when they don't even know their own culture. Most of what you see on american television is hatred, violence, fear, an obsession with money, shallowness...and what's with every television show (including mtv) producing reality shows these days?
what is the message that we are sending to future generations...our own children? that it's ok to hate and pick on those of different beliefs and cultures as long as the whole says it's ok....we were all made by one god. so it's up to us to make the difference once and for all.
artists who care about their world, whether it be painting, music, acting, dancing, film makers...what have you...speak up.
express yourself, don't live in fear, don't sell out.
after all we are all the same underneath our skin.
this world is dying and it has feelings just like humans do. and it's crying out loud to us.
stand up "help me to help you, save me to save you before it's too late"
let's make music not war..just another beautiful day.
make music it's the new religion...let music guide you. through love and happiness.
cheers,
once

Like the music industry, world domination is a fierce frontline - everyone battling to be the richest, the best, the most powerful, and the most intimidating.  I am sick of Bush going on about how Islamic extremists are attacking the US because they hate what they enjoy...freedom.  How many times does he need to say this bullshit.  Firstly, Bush instigates hatred of Muslims by tagging extremists as Islamic.  Islam means peace.  Extremists are anything but - they act under false ideology that they are doing this for Islam - they are - as Islam states - bound to hell.  Secondly, Extremists are not attacking US freedom, nor are they attacking US for attempting to impose 'Democracy' on every nation, when in actual fact, they use 'democracy' as the umbrella name for secular ways, which Islamic States are far from.  (Democracy is a very loose term these days.  You choose your president is as close to having your say as you'll ever get, and thats where your say stops.  Since when have protests etc ever make difference. But even that failed at the last US elections when Bush somehow came from defeat to victory for second term by very skeptical means).  Extremists attack US for the imposing of world laws... e.g. 'you can't have nukes, you're a muslim country.  Only we can have nukes' or attacking countries by pretending they are building Weapons of mass destruction, just as US have, to secure certain unsustainable resources - oil!  I wonder if US protest about Russia making nukes.  But it doesn't stop at oil.  Its about world domination.  US must have bases across the world so that they can attack any country if need be.  Many of those bases are in Islamic states where it is political suicide to have them removed.  Now TV is great propaganda - in US its all about fearing the nation and making them believe it is justified to attack and to create hatred.  In the east, its propaganda on how US have attacked civilians and flaunting the injured and dead on TV to create hatred.  The actual cruelty of war is never shown in the west unless its westerners affected.  It is not in western interests to show their cruelty on the east.

Interestingly and unknown to most westerners but highly propaganded in the East is that Iraq, funded by US and unfortunately the UK with weapons etc attacked Kuwait for more reasons than to re-claim the land.  Kuwait refused to allow US to have bases in their country.  Iraq were then in a position to attack Kuwait because US said they wouldn't protect Kuwait if attacked - almost greenlighting Iraq.  Kuwait is attacked, need protecting, along come US air bases, and oil.  Whether this is true or not, it is a belief in the east, and more fuel for Extremists.  I wouldnt put it past both Bush administrations (Senior and Junior) if it was true seeing how they conduct actions, going back to the freak re-election of Bush junior.  Have you seen the film documentary Farenheit 9-11?!

Then there is the war between Israel and Palestine, and now Israel and Lebanon.  Israel - rich not for its oil but for selling highly advanced weaponry to US and UK - is a state that US will protect to no end.  Therefore, the genocide and slaughter happening in Palestine and Lebanon is overlooked - where are the US forces now?  Why are they not there as they were for Kuwait?  Its not in their interests to protect against their arms suppliers.  More fuel for Extremists.

Do you know what one of the biggest reasons there are for child dying every 3 seconds in Africa, or why the word Poverty exists?  Poverty is a man-made condition caused by country leaders, and WAR.

It sickens me that we have idiots in this world that say they act in the name of Islam yet terrorise and go against everything that is peaceful in Islam.  Love your neighbour, your brothers and sisters (ie muslims) and love non-believers (ie non-muslims) is what is taught in Islam.  It sickens me that they have fuel to think they have the right to do what they are doing.  It is fact that suicide is so forbidden in Islam, that one who commits suicide is believed to feel the pain of their suicide in their grave until the Day of Judgement.  To murder innocent civilians, is forbidden.  In Jihad - the fight to protect Islam - there are strict laws.  One of them is only to attack the forces and not civilians.  September 11th, and July 7th was exact opposite of Jihad.  It is everything non-Islamic, yet now thanks to Bush and others, Islam is branded evil.

I love the UK.  I like having Tony Blair as our Prime Minister.  He does so many heartful and good things for the UK.  Although his wording needs improving, he makes a point to tell the nation not to brand Muslims as terrorists.  Terrorists come from all races and countries - Northern Ireland, Darfur, China vs Tibet, South Africa, and Bush - a terrorist himself.  However, Tony knows himself that he is the Sheep to the Shepherd (Bush) in order to keep strong links with US.  It is for this reason, UK is now being attacked by Extremists.  Its time Blair stood up for our country and do the job our rightful democracy voted him to do - he should revolt and do our own thing as our own nation - he protects us from the pitfalls of the EU, why cant he does as much against the pitfalls of the US?  But as things stand now, I believe we, the British should have the right to vote in US elections, because we should have the right to choose our Prime Ministers Puppet Master!

I take back my comments of Tony Blair as above.  He is an idiot.  Its down to him that UK is at war, and being targetted by terrorists.  He should leave office immediately.  But to hand over the reigns to Gordon Brown?  Its almost as bad.

Gordon Brown brown noses Tony Blair who brown noses George Bush.  All 3 should leave politics as they don't realise that they have created world war 3.

Hey,

What you say in the second half of your blog - in my opinion - is SO true! Artist's like yourself have a certain "power" to teach & mould the minds of young generations. Unfortunately most artists are using this "power" to encourage children to hate, use drugs & think sex is love....

This alongside the mouldings of the media's interpretation of the government & the reality, leaves very little for our children to be nourished & nourish others by. I am highly concerned - being a mother myself - in the way our children are heading. I try to teach my daughter what I can to keep her eyes open, to see past the words & into whats really going on....

I sure hope more people like you - other artists - get behind the ideas of alternate views.

Ironicly my daughter is playing up right now so I have to go :)

Thanks for the brain UNfreeze!
Larnz ;)

ps: not sure what kudos are so I gave you two... hopefully they are good ;)
