Yet another day at NQC! Today, I slept in ('til 8:30!), got ready, then headed downstairs to the hotel lobby to watch the Young Excelling Artist Showcase. It was FANTASTIC! I really enjoyed seeing Skyline Drive, Jennifer Grissop, Hope's Journey, Luke and Olivia White, and Josh and Ashley Franks, among others. It was great to be able to sit back and watch others doing the same thing that we do… sometimes it's nice to get to watch it from the "other side" of the platform… from the congregation's point of view. What I enjoyed the most about the Showcase was that it was not a "show" at all… everyone seemed to demonstrate a true understanding of ministry. There was a great blend of stage presence combined with true, heartfelt desire to present the gospel to the audience.
After that, we had to eat lunch. Two things you might not know until you read the next sentence - I am a vegetarian. And, I just got a Garmin GPS for the road. I'm actually what you would call a "pesco"vegetarian (I eat some kinds of fish - but definately not salmon!) I tell ya - It's hard to find something good to eat on the road when you don't eat meat! My good 'ol garmin lead me to two wrong places before I found what I was looking for for food… and the place we found wasn't due to the Garmin's help! We passed a Quiznos, so I had a great veggie sub and chips. :-) After that, we got ready for the evening and headed over to Freedom Hall.
Tonight, we just had another great night of meeting people, hanging out at the booth (and freezing! it's cold in there!), and having fun. We've been able to meet several people who could definately be a blessing to our ministry in the future, so we'll see what God has in store!
Looking forward to another great day tomorrow! I'll be headed off to several concerts, so I'll be sure to have some great pictures for you tomorrow night! I got a few today, but the lighting wasn't good, I'm sorry.
Talk to you all soon!
