Current mood:lounge
Why is it that Robin Hood is so great?!?!?! Its probably one of the best-animated features of all time. I sit here looking at my recent purchase of the most wanted edition (oh that’s right) and I deeply desire to watch it, yet I wait. I wait for that moment when I know it will be right to see foxes battle rhinoceros’ or rhinoceri at the peak moment of reminiscing. The familiar voices of a 36 yr old film are comforting as well as reminding me that life is not as simple as a Disney cartoon. I’m not trying to write a review on the brilliance of the movie, nor am I trying to find a deep and ecumenical value in the story. I’m just musing that life would be way different if you had the hope of the good guy getting the girl and the gold.

Ok so check it out! I wrote that one week ago to the day! And yesterday we met with our lawyer, super overwhelming. And today I remembered that I brought Robin Hood the most wanted edition. And I put it on, and was watching it, looked at my computer only to find this document·

It’s crazy how we associate so many things with our past. We all want to be Robin Hood, we all hate the sheriff, we all feel sorry for the bunnies and the turtle babies that get chained somewhere in the middle. Or maybe its too bold to say “we”, it could just be me. Nonetheless I remember wanting to be a good guy, and do something that would help and change things. Feeling like the bunny who had robin hoods hat, playing the hero trying to do the right thing. But its not that easy anymore is it. Watching the movie even now I look at how tall the castle walls are, how many rhino’s you’d have to take out, foxes cant swim through moats. And Madam roosters can’t sew scarves. And I’m only 28 mins into the movie. The only characters that feel realistic to me are the taxed citizens and hiss. The suck up to the bad guy. Just saying. The suck ups that scheme usually get what they want in real life. And the people born into a life and choose to have a God complex about it (prince john the wimpy lion). Anyway he’s not the point of this. Truthfully im not sure what the point of this is. Just a collection of thoughts thrown around a cartoon that is great. It makes me wish I was a world class archer. And it makes me wish that life could be easier. But its not so i'm over it. Over Robin Hood and onto Lawyers and negotiations. And scheming. To all the fans and friends who read this, we need your help. We need to start getting clever and having ideas that blow minds! So be on the lookout as well as thinking of ways to get Made Avail out to the world.

Speaking of blowing minds, Jon got a girlfriend! All the forest creatures that Jon rests with at night are very sad to see him leave them. Meaning he’s moving from the ground to somewhere else to sleep alone. The possums are a jealous creature, the raccoons are just grateful for what they had. And the mice will miss eating his shoelaces for breakfast. Little “Jon” gets his maid marian, or is jon the robin hood of his own story. You tell me…. You tell me jon, if youre the robin hood then whos little jon. And whos hiss J …… what….. so many questions unanswered, so many sins about to go unpunished. Ive decided upon re-reading this entry that jon needs to be involved in my summation, in my conclusion. Because jon truly is the silent killer, The weeping widow, the guy behind the guy. Not saying im the guy, just that there is a guy, and that jon is behind him. Point in case, thanks for reading and we will be updating these hopefully weekly. Love all of you and if you have questions or topics you want to hear Made Avail talk about, let us know! Because we’re here for you!

Sorry about the bad luck,

Luke

I LOVE that movie. I have it on VHS (yeah, amazing, I still own a VCR too) wayyyy back when I was a kid and my mom recorded it for me off of the Disney Channel (like, I think there's some very ancient commercials on it too which just makes watching it all the better). It is definitely the best version of "Robin Hood" I have seen as well, definitely. Now you have made me want to watch it, Luke, and it is sadly at home and I'd have to wait until this weekend. I do like your metaphors about life and characters. I like reading "brainy" blogs like this, it's nice. And now I must try to use some of this new found brain stimulation in my lesson planning for my 7th and 8th graders tomorrow...

i am not so much in the "disney" version of Robin Hood but i do love a Medieval Movie with sword fighting in it... I always wanted to be a sword fighter. There is something about fighting with a sword that makes it seem like a noble way of combat. Ok, i know this has nothing to do with what you are writing about... or does it? Think about it.
