Who Gives Kudos:

Thursday, May 08, 2008

I initially began seeing people dress in costumes of popular video game and anime characters several years ago, when I first attended I-Con. It seemed like an enjoyable concept.

In 2004, my friend Joe and I somehow thought it would be a good idea to cosplay at the Broadway Mall, with our friends Mary and Vicky (Tifa). Embarrassingly enough, we ended up actually going through with it, as makeshift characters Squall and Zell (both from Final Fantasy VIII). Somewhat glad those pictures are lost in time.

Come 2005, I decided to cosplay without assistance or accompaniment, at I-Con 25. After some time and effort, I had produced somewhat decent Link (from The Legend of Zelda), Cloud (from Final Fantasy VII), and Vash (from Trigun) costumes, which I wore to the convention.

*Actually, I decided not to do the Vash cosplay, because I saw too many people as Vash already walking around.

I-Con 26 was fun, as I ended up going as both Wallmarket Cloud (from Final Fantasy VII), and James (from Pokémon).

It's now 2008, and I-Con 27 was okay. I went as Bleeker (from Juno). I would still like to do Kadaj (from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children), Rufus Shinra (from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children) and Lee (from Tekken). In the future, I hope to finally finish the cosplay for Kadaj, and work on many others. I also hope to, some day, start some new ones, including: Dante (from Devil May Cry), Lloyd (from Legend of Dragoon) and Super Majin Buu (from Dragon Ball Z). After those, I'm sure I'll be able to come up with more.

If anyone has any questions, comments, requests, or anything of the like regarding this post and/or topic, please, feel free.

Lol, silly me. You misunderstood. This particular Vicky's nickname is Tifa, and I put her nickname there to distinguish you from her, but seeing as how you are possibly planning on cosplaying Tifa, I can see how you got confused.
