Dear people who give a crap enough to read my wonderful blogs,

It was just this weekend passed that I took a long trip up to the Queensland town of Bundaberg (yeah man, where the rum is from) to spend the weekend with my favourite person in the world right now, Tash. For those of you who do not speak to me nearly as often as what you should, I met Tash in QLD on my adventure with The Rob in the May just gone (please read prevoius blog to be filled in on that cracker of a time haha). Anyways, Tash and i have been talking alot since we met and i decided that she was cool enough for me to make the 1600km trip up to her home town of Bundaberg (now known as "Bundy" from here on in). So, the story goes a little something like this, day for day:

DAY 1 - Friday 15/6/07
Well, it certainly was an early one indeed! I went to bed at 1am on Friday morning, mainly because i washed my clothes late the night before (idiot!), because i crammed in a bit of guitar seeing as i wasn't taking mine with me and because i was freaking excited. After snoozing for a measly 2 hours or so, i woke at 3:15am so that i could beat the horrible M5 traffic to the airport. Dad and i left at 4am and i was at the airport by 5am... fuck! Seeing as my flight was at 7:35am, it was too early to even check in! Lucky though... at 5:30, Dad sends me a message saying the M5 is chockers so i think we made a good call because there was NO WAY i was missing that plane! So after hanging around and sleeping for 2 .5 hrs, i boarded Jetstar Flight JQ802 headed for Hervey Bay's "Fraser Coast" airport. The flight was ok, a little turbulent because of the weather conditions but heck, i got there in one piece! The plane landed at 9:20am, i got off and walked into the terminal to meet up with my girl...

Walked into the terminal and she was there with her friend Mark (who is also a wicked bastard). She hugged me straight away and this made me happy... it was gonna be an awesome weekend! I grabbed my baggage and we set off for Bundy, a mere 1-1.5 hr drive through the QLD sugarcane farmlands. Dear god, i've never seen so much fucking sugar! I mean really... theres enough there to supply the rest of the world til it ends i'd reckon! Wow... also pineapples.
So after enduring Tash's crazy driving for an hour or so, we made it to Bundy. First stop was lunch because we was all hungry, and then straight to the pub where Mark introduced me to "Bundy Draught..." Rum and coke on tap. After initially being a little skeptical, i tried and quite enjoyed! Downed about 3 in half an hour, and this didn't mix too well with the severe lack of sleep i was currently dealing with. Mark had to work at 1pm, so then Tash took me back to her place where i was staying for the weekend. First things first - nap time! Didn't really nap though, i was too excited by the fact i was in Bundy. So we chatted for a bit before Tash took me to meet her Nan & Pop.
Dudes, i was totally nervous about meeting her folks hey. But, they are cool and my nerves were soon settled. After this, we went for a drive out to the coast - To Bundy Port, Bargara (nice place) and Elliot Heads (also nice place) to see the sights. Wow man, wow...

Next, it was dinnertime. We were to have dinner with Tash's Dad and his girlfriend, as well as her Nan and Pop at Sizzler. I hadn't been to Sizzler before, and i must say it was pretty sweet. After dinner we were to meet Tash's friend Sarah (from her work, wicked bastard) and her bf Mark (same Mark as before) at "Cold Rock". BUT, we had a bit of time to kill so we went to the park and 'hung around' for a bit haha! We climbed this weird rope contraption and watched the scenes unfold from on high... all the crazy Bundy hooligans were out!
Now, "COLD ROCK" - anyone who doesn't know of Cold Rock, FUCKEN LOOK IT UP! Its this icecream shop where you can get all this crazy stuff mixed into all these different flavours of ice-cream. Honestly, it's amazing! I had strawberry icecream with cookie dough and twix oh yeah! Tash has vanilla with cookie dough and nutella... even more OH YEAH! Crazy good dudes, crazy good!
Then it was home time to retire to bed for the day... i was so tired it wasn't even funny. Day 1 complete.

DAY 2 - 16/6/07
I woke up about 7am to a beautiful morning in Bundaberg... the weather there shits all over Sydney hey. Now now, i'm all for the rain (in fact i love the rain) but Bundy's weather is v. good. Tash introduced me to a British TV show by the name of "Coupling"... hi five to anyone out there who knows of it! Funny show... it even has "Commodore Norrington" from "Pirates of The Carribean" in it! We watched that til about 10:30/11/11:30 (don't remember exactly), then we went into town to get fuel & lunch. Got home, ate these awesome pies from this neat little bakery type joint and watched Scrubs. Tash hadn't realy seen a whle lotta Scrubs before, but i soon fixed that haha. 7 episodes (season 1, disc 1) we seen. I love Scrubs. Afterwards it was nap time... i was really tired again. Plus, i was on holidays, so i can do what i wanna fucken!
This Saturday night was the night of Tash's uncle's 50th birthday party, and she took me along with her. I was really really nervous about this one, her whole family (pretty much half the population of Bundaberg haha) was gonna be there. But, they are a pretty laid back rockin bunch so it wasn't half bad. Her Aunty Debbie spoke to me alot about music and Krispy Kreme donuts (Can you believe that QLD doesn't have Krispy Kreme donuts or what?) and i spoke briefly to some of her cousins and other family. Awesome.
After the partay, we drove around for a bit and Tash showed me some of the stuff that goes on at night in Bundy... then we went home and went to bed. Pretty lazy day really, but freakin awesome all the same. Day 2 complete.

DAY 3 - 17/6/07
Tash woke me up at 7am so that we could have a jam packed day of all things awesome. First of all, i was to meet her best friend Dan... he too is a wicked bastard! Geez man, all her friends are awesome. Then we drove up to the "Hummock" lookout - The "Hummock" is Bundaberg's Dormant volcano. Not dead volcano, but inactive. From up there you can see Bundy and all it's neighbouring farmlands. FUCKING HUGE AREA! Pretty sweet up the top.
Now it was time for the tour to end all tours - The Bundaberg Rum Distillery, where the famous Bundy Rum is made and bottled. Wildly fascinating place! It's right next door to the sugar mill which produces Bundaberg Sugar, and is so because the rum is made from Molasses, a byproduct of sugarcane or somethin like that. We got to try molasses, and it tasted like SHIT (well Dan and i thought so... Tash, Sarah and Mark liked). I even bit the other end of the paddle pop stick so that i could taste the wood as opposed to the molasses! Also notably, we got to smell "immature rum" which smelled just like metho, no word of a lie. We seen the massive wood vats where all the rum is kept for 2 years and got a whole rundown of how the place operated, then we got 2 free drinks! Because Tash was driving meant i got more hehe. Awesome!
After the tour ended, we dropped Dan home & went to Subway for lunch with Sarah & Mark. 1 chicken sub later, Tash and i went over to Bundy's botanical gardens and the the Bert Hinkler house - The pioneer aviator's house which had been moved piece by piece from England to Bundaberg. Then we ventured back out to Bargara and went for a walk along the shore for a bit before retreating back to her joint. I fell asleep (but like i said before, i was on holidays) and she napped aswell. That night, we got pizza's for tea and some cold rock icecream and watched more scrubs. It was so chill out hey... she is my kinda girl! Went to bed, but i couldn't sleep... i was so bothered about having to come home the next day that it kept me awake. I got a tiny bit of sleep in though.

DAY 4 - 18/6/07
Oh man, how sad was i feeling this morning. I still had a few hours to spend with Tash after waking at 6am to pack my stuff & shower etc... but i was still really sad to be leaving. My flight was at 9:50am from Hervey Bay, a 1/1.5 hr drive. Her Nan and Pop offered to take me back to the airport in Hervey Bay, so we headed down there with them. Secretly i hoped that violent storms were tearing up Hervey Bay (or maybe just preventing planes from taking off) so that i could stay longer, but it wasn't to be. We got there at about 8:55am, 1 hr before my flight. I checked in straight away and then had to be through the security checks by 9:10am which means i had to go straight in. It was really hard saying goodbye to Tash... but we managed and went our seperate ways (for 2 months anyways). I boarded the plane at about 9:30am and took off on time at 9:50am.
The flight home was so crappy, for a number of reasons -
1) There was this young kid who had the maddest hissy fit all the way
home... fair enough kids cry, but this young chap didn't stop letting
everyone know he was angry and after about half an hour of it, i'd
     had quite enough.
2) The young girl sitting behind me kept kicking my seat from behind
and moving my armrest with her foot. Annoying!
3) It was rough as hell up in the sky because of the weather conditions.
4) I was tired and sad.

I had to catch a train home from Domestic Airport to Mac Square, and the one way ticket cost me $15! I was pissed, especially seeing as i didn't have my concession card. What a freaking wrought! Ma & Pa picked me up from Mac Square, then i had to go to work at 4 still sad.

Needless to say, being from NSW i was definitely an outsider, and every opportunity that presented itself i made certain to bag the crap outta QLD just because haha! But, surely enough i got it back from every person there too... mainly from Tash hehe. But, i stuck it to 'em and even though i may have a few emotional bruises i still feel i won the fight!

I had so much fun spending time with Tash... arguing about silly things, stirring each other up and playing that crazy "punchbuggy" game you played when you were 10 years old amongst many other things. Tash m'dear, when you read this - thankyou so much for having me up there and showing me around.
You are "awesomely awesome"... totally! This is true. (Only Tash will understand hehe xoxo love you). Thankyou to all your friends too bub, please pass on my thanks to them all. I had a blast!

Thankyou all of you who took the time in sharing my amazing experience in making it through this mammoth of a blog haha. You all rock.

TTFN,
Brendo...

Man you are a blogging god. I shall dub you the "the blog god" or "blod" for short. No wait that sounds insulting. Maybe "gog".

You were only gone for the weekend and my heart hurts. Think how i feel when you didn't even say goodbye or let me come to the airport to see you off. I would've waved a hanky and everything. Nah its good to see you had fun (as we all knew you would). Your phone must've been happy to have time off. I'm pretty sure you have worn the numbers off that thing. He he.

Well dude i am off to write that blog about urinal cakes. Its gonna happen. I just need a little time to write it up before i post it so keep an eye out cause its gonna be a doosy.

Can't wait till Friday WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Have a good one.
