as it turns out, we're using more and more samples these days. but for the record, a lot of times you'll hear instruments we clearly arent playing in real time on stage. guitar for example. sometimes we play it...some times we dont and use samples. the point being that, well, we sample ourselves. what we mean is there are only two of us, and so we'll play the guitar riff and sample it and then use it. its much easier than having a full time guitarist as typically we dont use such an instrument. and when we do, its highly repetitive. so dont think we're a bunch of techno-computer-wanks...we're just control freaks!!! we'd rather do it ourselves and replace people who dont show up for practice with a box of RAM, DSPS, and so forth. we still own a half dozen guitars for the record. in fact, im sure we'll trade some of them for midi-controlled rack mount vocal processors. das.
