The Reviews Are Comin' In
Thank you all for making The Vegan Table a success so far. It's been out for only a month, and it's in its third printing. That's a good thing...for a number of reasons. It means more people will have access to the cookbook and that errors will be corrected. As a perfectionist, a writer, and an editor, it pains me to find mistakes - however small they are - in my public work. Though most are just minor typos, please note that the Savory Tofu Spread needs 12 ounces of silken tofu (not 2 ounces) and that the software program used to glean the nutrition info is imperfect. For any recipes that indicate an amount of cholesterol, please know that the accurate number is "zero." Plants are cholesterol-free.
VEGNEWS REVIEW Having received an advance copy early on, VegNews MagazineThe Vegan Table, saying it is "a beautiful, thoughtful, intelligent book brimming with delectable, cruelty-free recipes and clever entertaining ideas." Their official review is in their July/August '09 issue and is just as glowing, saying that it would "be an enjoyable read even for non-cooks; it is a classic, a beautiful work of art, and deserving of a James Beard nomination." Though I'd be honored to receive VegNews "Cookbook of the Year" again for The Vegan Table, I suppose I may have to settle for the James Beard Award. Now, anyone know who I can talk to about that? :) was kind enough to provide an endorsement for
30 DAYS ARE UP! Kudos to Cadry Nelson for writing 30 fabulous reviews of 30 recipes from The Vegan Table. Though the 30 days is over, I'm thrilled to have been the catalyst for what I hope will be a bright future for Cadry in blogging. Her posts are heartfelt, smart, funny, personal, and poignant.
