This is a repost from June 13, 2008.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, it is June 13th, FRIDAY! Historically, it's bad luck theme goes back to a certain king in France cleaning house of the Knights Templar.  If you google it, You can find out more than you ever wanted to know about it.
So, that Friday the 13th was obviously unlucky for that lot. Which brings me to You.  When You are looking for something, it is easier to find it, right? If you are looking for the bad luck thingie today, You will probably find something You can identify as "bad".  Maybe, even "Bad to the bone".
If You want money, and You go look on your front lawn, will you find it?  On the one hand, if a dollar bill is there, You will find it, because You are looking for money.
If there is no money, You might think, just because I was looking for it, doesn't mean the universe will blow some there just for me, right?
Whether or not the universe blows some money there may depend on your attitude. Let's say You notice your grass needs mowing, and every lawn on your street needs mowing. You pull out your trusty lawn mower and You notice your neighbor rushing off to work.
You offer to mow their lawn, too.  By the time You finish, let's say, four more neighbors noticed You mowing the other neighbor's lawn, and asked if You could mow theirs also.  AT the end of the day, Your street would look GOOD! You would be $100 to $150 richer.Your neighbors would be grateful, and they all ask if You can do the same thing next week.
Question: did the universe blow some money on Your lawn?
You had a feeling You wouldn't find a twenty lying in the grass, but You still had the expectation and motivation to look. You played out your hunch, and went out expecting to find some money.  In doing so, You found a need for mowing Your own yard.
You started making a better neighborhood by mowing Your own lawn. That's personal development.  You started with Yourself. You had the philosophy of anticipation and gratitude.  You noticed the overgrown lawn. You acted to correct the deficiency. Others noticed and sought Your help.
You acted in the present... You acted now, based on what You believed. You believed, acted to help others, and the more people you helped, the more money blew onto Your lawn. I hope someone out there is understanding this.
So, can Friday the 13th be Your lucky day? It all depends on You, and Your awareness of NOW.  It depends on what You want, and whether You have the trust to move into prosperity.  Have You ever desired an income from home?
Am I recommending for You to get out your lawn mower?
No. I'm recommending You examine Your attitude, Your expectations, and Your actions.  If You want Friday the 13th to be lucky, then make it so. It's Your choice.
To Your success,
Jerry Butterworth
Janet,
may you have a safe and restful vacation. I know how hard you have been working, so enjoy the time with Earl. Don't drive through any deep water, use a speed boat instead!
Dear Connie,
with my Dynamic Midwestern duo, you inspire me to stay out ahead of you both. We are successful in our being. We are either being successful now, or we are not being successful now. It all depends on our philosophy(our beliefs), our attitudes, and whether we decide to act NOW.
Our actions will flow naturally from our philosophy if our attitude is to act NOW. Yesterday is already a memory and tomorrow only a dream. What you do today will determine your future, and don't let your past keep you from enjoying it. You are now. Now is what we all are.
That is the salutation of the dawn.
A friend for life,
Jerry
Thank you, Dan and Rhonda.
We owe a lot to Mentoring for Free. We get a lot, and we get to pay it forward. The greatest thing I have learned from MFF is It is not all up to me.
"Me" is only the switch, that I turn 'on or off' to tap into our great mastermind!
I am ever so grateful, that MFF has taught me where the switch is located.
Continue to turn on the light and let it shine!
Friends for life,
Jerry
I always look forward to the "FRIDAY THE 13TH(s)" because I always have GOOD LUCK on those days! I buy scratch off tickets and win money, get calls for special invitations. etc. Some say it is the Law of Attraction, that you get what you believe you deserve. Well I deserve the best and I will get it! Thanks for the comments, you are an awesome friend.
Fantastic twist, sort of like finding a four leaf clover.
they exist but you can only find them if you look for them.
So if you do not seek luck, you will probably not have any.
I wish you the best Jerry
Jenny, "Stuff Happens", to put it politely.
It isn't the Stuff that we step in that ruins our day, But how we handle the Stuff.
You can wash/brush/wipe it off and go on, Or you can just walk around with "Stuff" on Your shoes,
And then just call it Stinking Luck.
Jerry, I love to read what you write! It is always so empowering. Choice beats luck any way you cut it. When we aren't assuming responsibility for what goes on in our lives, we are at the mercy of "fate". We must sit and whine and just hope that the gods take pity on us. If we acknowlege that it is largely by choice that we are where we find ourselves, then we can go straight to the source that has the power to change our lives, being ourselves, no waiting whining and moaning, because we don't have to plead with anyone, we can consciously choose to sit in our mess or to take action! For me, the best plan is to tap into God's will, and then start moving my feet. If I decide to mope around for a spell, then I have no one to blame! I think action is a statement of willingness, and willingness is an opener of the door of infinite possibilities! I use to have a bumpersticker that read, " Consider the possibility.." This philosophy will take a body far!
