this song is about my life so far, we're all brought up with an emphasis on education and doing well at school and set ourselves some fucked up goal at the age of 16 for the rest of our lives... yes i failed my goals..and i've found myself in a place where i couldn't be happier. "12 years of my life no longer apply" this refers to 12 years of school/ rules and regulations that to me now seem stupid.
I've learnt more about people, the world and myself in the last 7 or 8 years going to shows,working for bands,doing bands and the general involvement in this scene.

this part of the song is about all the friends i've seen come and go, its true and sad.. for whatever reason it is.
this isnt really a diss to anyone who's stopped going to shows.. just the general disprespect some show and talk shit on kids (edge or not) "i've grown up" "im not a kid anymore" like we are all wasting our time while "the real world" waits for us ...this is my real world.
