Who Gives Kudos:

November 10, 2009 - Tuesday

Current mood:  happy
I must say. This is definitely a treat for all fans of Nirvana. I personally have been waiting since 1994/95 (The Live! Tonight! Sold Out VHS tape was released somewhere around that time). Ever since I saw the live performace of Lithium at Reading I knew that someday this would be released in it's entirety. The sing along during that song especially sent shivers down my spine. It still does. There are many hilarious moments in this dvd especially when Dave asked Krist to tell a joke (I think it was Dave who asked).
So Krist goes "The invisible goes to the doctor, the nurse says i'll go get the doctor, the nurse says the invisible man is here, the doctor says Tell him I can't see him right now." The crowd bursted with laughter. This was the magic of Nirvana. They all played off each other very well. It was like one of those classic comedy teams of the golden years of comedy. Don't see bands with that kind of humor anymore.

The Bleach reissue is very interesting. I honestly haven't played the live stuff yet because i've been enamoured with the Reading DVD. I do have to say that the packaging is very interesting. Especially the picture booklet that comes with it. I'll definitely write up a report on it as soon as I get to it.

Feel free to post your favorite Reading moments here.

Enjoy!

A TAD bit of MELVANA

I'm a little disapointed about the edit on the Reading CD, Hacking the Boston intro & Love Buzz Oh well, I still have a high quality bootleg of it

Due to time constraints, the CD is heavily edited, omitting in-between song banter and such, as well as the track Love Buzz.

The joke is definitely the most hilarious moment.

"...Its really cheesy to tell dumb jokes between songs."

And of course, Kurt & the wheelchair, "Some say love it is a river..."

Cant wait for your report !

Best regards

Leandro

Ah, I still don't have the Reading release cause I'm without a job & broke at the moment:(

...definitely getting it though...so many favorite moments from this show.  The wheelchair "entrance" and the stage destruction during the Star-Spangled Banner jam...just sooooo good.

And I agree about the Live and Loud release, it's long overdue.

lol I loved how they started playing and barely singing More than a feeling before Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Also, I could imagine the fight that could've started over Kurt's guitar after he gave it to the crowd at the end of the show.

Nirvana forever.
