I wrote this today, and gone back to it a few times to reedit, but, all in all, it's in the creativity that we all should be living, rather than in the let-downs of life. You see, there's always an up-side to creativity; you're always on the up, seeing life half full or half empty, depending which way you advance through it.
"If I could be stepping on notes,
I'd be stepping on destiny!
If I could step on stones,
I would step on you...
But I can't; I'm trapped in love,
I can't see the above,
For it is too low!
Yes I can!... I say it to myself!
Wouldn't I like to shout it for everyone:
"A horizon is never too low
if I could envision it half full
as I travel
from love to life!"
If I could be travelling on
from one job interview to another,
I'd be keeping on the fluff,
Hugging every cloud,
Plucking out the rough
from every diamond I'd meet!
If I could be singing on and on,
I'd be smiling right now!
If I could sing,
From all worries, I'd be drained;
I'd be drawn to picking in every other smile,
Should I be living inside a song!
But I can't; I'm trapped in life,
I can't see the above,
For it is too low!
Yes I can!... I say it to myself!
Wouldn't I like to shout it for everyone:
"A horizon is never too low
if I could envision it half full
as I travel
from life back in the arms of love!"
If I could be stepping out of the shoes of love,
I would never be stepped on again!
If I am that stepping stone,
Then, please, step on me...
If I could be leaning on a rainbow every day of my life,
I would never be lied to again!
Should I be stepping on notes,
Then, hear me,
watch me again,
walk up with me time and again
and you shall never be steeping any lower
than life itself ever again!!
Yes, I can! I can break out of love,
For the best is never beyond
what I can or cannot see!
Yes I can!... I say it to myself!
Wouldn't I like to shout it for everyone:
"A horizon is never too low
if I could envision it half empty,
As I travel
from love back to life,
back to love, then into my lover's arms again,
then back to reality, back to life,
just to be ready for love...
... In the end, it's all life, is it not?!?!
Just let me have my life and love shot
For I see those two through a glass
that's half full at times,
At others, half empty!"
