Early in the year or at the end of last year, I had posted a blog about why 2006 was going to be a good year. So with only two months left in the year, I feel like I can give everyone an update on how my year has gone. Has it lived up to my expectations?
So 2006 is going to be my year. Here are all the reasons why:
1) My employee badge will start working in the BJC cafeteria. You'd think that would be enough to make 2006 spectacular, but wait there's more.
My badge did indeed start working, but that is really neither here nor there since I'm not working there anymore. I made a few changes through the year, but where I've ended up is a pretty good place. I took a job at KC as the nursing tutor, I also teach the one of the OB clinical groups, and I teach part time for McKendree College for there BSN program.
2) The final hearing for my divorce is in January and will be finalized in February. Don't worry this is not a bad thing, In fact, we'll be celebrating. Consider this your first informal invitation to my rebach party.
Well, my divorce did not actually become final until March because of paperwork issues and a crappy lawyer, but its done now and things are great.
3) I'm going to go on a date with a guy that I actually like and maybe I may even kiss him goodnight.
I did go on a date, a few actually, with a few different guys. .............and the winner is........ Ryan Williams. I love him, he loves me. I couldn't have ended up with a better guy.
4) I'm going to buy a house which will signify my life anew.
Okay, never bought a house. I did start renting a nice townhouse and as things got more serious with Ryan and I, we ended up moving in with him. We will buy a house together in a couple of years after I finish my nurse practitioner program.
5) 2006 is going to be the year of self-confidence. Watch out for Leslie.
This is a pretty subjective one, I have to admit, I go up and down on this one. Overall, pretty good on the self-confidence.
6) My son is going to graduate first grade. Wow, and I really mean wow. He's growing up so fast and I can't make him stop. But what a man he is going to be.
He graduated first grade and is now in second, straight A's for the first quarter. He played baseball with much improvement and is just great. He has such a caring spirit, I know he's going to make a wonderful contribution to society some day.
7) My daughter is going to potty train. I'll save so much in diapers, I should be able to afford a nanny.
DONE!!!!! and before her third birthday. She doesn't even have to wear pull ups at night. What a relief.
8) This year I will by a car that gets better gas milage and maybe even get those payments under $500.
Still working on this one. I checked on it recently. I still owe 12,000 or more on it and the dealer is only willing to give me 5500 in trade, well thats not going to work. Guess I better pay it down some more. I decided on a minivan of some type, since together we have 3 kids, it gets a little cramped.
9) and finally, 2006 is going to be the year that I love me and I'm not going to feel bad about loving me. Me is a great girl.
Yup, love me.
