MALLARD ICE CREAM TASTING TONIGHT
Quick note: Ben Scholtz, who is the genius behind Mallard Ice Cream, is doing a special Ice Cream Tasting tonight at Ciao Thyme!  We get to find out tons about what they do to make such good ice cream - like taste the stuff before it's frozen, and the sugars, and sniff the vanillas (the most expensive flavor they make).  I'm really curious!

We get the "inside scoop" on how they develop those amazing flavors, and Ben will also teach us how to make their caramel sauce (which would get me there, even without the ice cream).  Class will culminate with students making their own sundae masterpieces.

There are still a dozen spaces left (room for 25 people total).  Cost is $15 and class begins at 7:30.  Pre-registration is required.  The class is right downtown, but not at Mallard's. To sign up, call Ciao Thyme Catering at 733-1267, with credit card in hand.

MEMORIAL FOR TOM HUNTER
Actually, more than one.  Tom had a wider range of communities than most folks.

Memorial Service this Saturday, June 28 at 2 PM, at Tom's UCC church on Cornwall Ave.

Community Sing on Friday evening July 11, also at the church, led by some of Tom's long-time music buddies.

Benefit Concert by Young People in Tom's honor, Saturday evening July 12.  Details to come.

Benefit Dances featuring a bunch of local bands, at two local watering holes, also on July 12.  Details as they become available.

TOM HODGE ON UKE
Tuesday July 1st  at 12:30 PM at Whatcom Museum Rotunda Room, free
Bellingham's most enthusiastic ukulele player, offers a variety of tunes on ukulele and banjo-uke. The ukulele is enjoying a world-wide revival, and Tom will introduce new and old songs on the versatile four-stringed instrument. Hodge teaches guitar and ukulele at Whatcom Community College, Parkview Elementary School and privately.

MUSIC CIRCLE
Wednesday July 2nd, 7:30 at our house. No charge.  Everyone welcome.  Talent is optional.
I suspect there may be a lot of Tom Hunter Songs and farewell songs.

EDITOR'S CORNER
We're looking for a house-sitter for three weeks in late July & early August.  Want a responsible non-smoker who likes cats and gardens and would like a peaceful environment.
Bob Franke

I'm very sorry to hear of Tom Hunter's death. He was a kind man, among many other things.
