Quamallah: "My favorite time period for Hip Hop music was definitely between 1983 and 1994 with 1988 and 1993 being two years that standout as extremely impressive years musically and culturally. The fashion, slang, movies, t.v. shows, and vibe during those years was incredible. while totally submerged in the feelings and music of that entire time period, I went to work on "Invisible Man" and I am excited for people to hear the result! It is an album that I would want to hear from some of my favorite artists of the past and present today. This is not a RETRO trip for me; this is me at my best lyrically and spiritually using the accessories of the 80's and 90's to fuel me. I am a '88 soul as the song states!"

Let Quame break down the story behind that:
"A lot of underground heads during the late 90’s may remember my first
splash on the scene with the “Don’t Call Me John” EP released by ABB
Records. However, due to my decision to go back to school and other
personal obstacles, my music was put on hold shortly after.

The
majority of the music for the original “Don’t Cal Me John” EP was made
as a demo in 1998 but I had a lot of music that I recorded in 1999 that
was never released. Most of this music belonged to a catalog I called
“The Painwriter” because it reflected the anger, frustration, sadness
and even fear built up within me due to: my mom becoming very ill,
confrontation with members of my crew, toxic relationship with a
girlfriend and economic frustration/struggles.

Since that time
and that music, I cleansed and grew spiritually, mentally and even
physically. The end result of this growth is reflected lyrically in my
new album to be released this May 19th 2009 called “Invisible Man” on a
collab between Brick and Cotter Records.

However, to truly
appreciate the growth, I felt it necessary for listeners to have the
opportunity to hear some of the music recorded from 1998 to 2002.
“Don’t Call Me John Pt. II” (The Painwriter) consists of eight tracks
like the original, but each song represents a very personal and pivotal
chapter in my life journey. It will help bring understanding to my new
album and personal growth."

1. Got To Get Yah (1999)
2. Im Not You! (1999)
3. Does She Think About Me? (1999)
