Current mood:  sleepy
Yesterday night at my church's weekly choir practice, we got a whole bunch of new music that I am SO excited about! We now have arrangements for amazing songs like 'My Savior, My God' and 'I can only Imagine.'...two songs I love.  But the song I am absolutely ecstatic about is Avalon's 'Adonai'! This ballad really drew me into Avalon's music and is one I've been dreaming of singing as a choir! Here's my "story" behind it :

All day yesterday before choir practice, I had been listening (or watching) this live version of 'Adonai' Avalon did on Gospel Music Channel's "Front Row Live" show a while ago.  Needless to say, I'm pretty much obsessed with their updated version of the original song with new notes and things like that. I love it. Anyway, as I said, I've been dreaming of getting a chance to sing this song. Now, fast forward to choir practice. I walk into our choir director's house and she had all these new music books sitting out on her table. Guess which one was the first one? ADONAI. After thinking about this song allll day long,  I couldn't believe it!
After singing a whole bunch of other songs at practice, I really thought we weren't going to get to Adonai that night. But, we did..and here's the cool part: There's a solo running through the entire song (even as a choral piece) and who gets to sing it? ME! !  My choir director said that the first time she heard the song done this way, she knew that she wanted me to sing it. The arrangement is just fantastic and the solo part is AWESOME (and verrryy challenging!). I'm so looking forward to learning it.

Now, I am not writing this blog to brag about this or anything!  I was (and still am) completely humbled by the whole thing. I am amazed at God's work in my life and find it crazy how God planned this whole thing out for me. It couldn't have been better. He has just opened so many doors for me and continues to put opportunities in my way I never could have even imagined for myself. He is SO good to me and this one instance (among many, lately) has reminded me of how real and prevalent He is in my life. He knows my heart's desires and is fulfilling my dreams in His timing!

The other day, I prayed for God to surprise me and to just give me a little affirmation that I'm heading in the direction He has for me. He completely answered that prayer (totally not in the way I expected!) through this blessing and I feel so amazingly grateful that He chooses to reveal Himself to someone like me. He is GOOD.
