Since the right to choose these representatives is in the hands of the people, it is very important that everyone in a community get to the polls to cast their ballots. If only a few people vote, then the elected representatives may not truly represent the interests of the full community.

Someday you may disagree with a decision made by your governor, state and federal representatives, or the president. The best way to make your opinion known is to go to the polls and elect new officials whom you believe will better represent you in the future. By not voting, you are in effect giving up your right to help make changes in our country.

But why do others not see it that way??? It kills me to see the numbers so low! Then to here people complain at the top of there lungs how crappy someone is doing there job! WELL THEN VOTE THEM OUT!

Then as I work on the campain I saw the nastyness that some people have. It is just plain ugly. I managed to keep it clean the whole time, even with the frustrations I had with the man that was in office as our Alderman. I will admit at the very end I did make a comment that was not so nice. "the squeaky wheel does get the grease...and I squeaked". Nothing wrong with that but I did say it at the wrong time. And I felt so ugly because for one moment I was one of the not nice people. And for that I am sorry. But we have to change the way things are runned in new haven. Enough is Enough!
