So I went to Florida with my family, driving down Thursday, and driving back home on Monday. It was a very spontaneous trip in that I only had two days notice. Basically my parents asked when I would start my job and if I wanted to go. I was really hesitant to go because I would be stuck with my parents for a while, I wouldn't have my friends or cousin to talk to, and I thought about resting up before starting my job at Sentara. But then I wondered if Disneyworld lost its magic. You know how when you're younger everything was much more spectacular? You were amazed by the simplest things. It's like when I went to the Virginia Living Science Museum for a field trip when I was young, and when I went back a few years ago I could touch the ceiling. It just wasn't nearly as impressive and I was disappointed. Well, I was expecting the same with Disneyworld, but fortunately I was wrong. When I went to the theme parks, I felt so nostalgic. Cinderella's castle is still as grand as I remembered it. The rides I rode. The decor, the shows. All of them, I remembered clearly. They haven't changed. I stood at the exact same spot where I watched the fireworks at Epcot ten years ago. It was like I could be a kid again before I get thrusted into this new stage in my life full of responsibility. It was refreshing, and I'm glad I chose to go. I thought to myself that when I have children they can't miss out on this.
