FANTASTIC, DYNAMIC, TOUCHING, SINCERE, AWESOME, ENERGETIC - all insufficient words to describe our experience in Boston yesterday, where we viewed the documentary "We Are Wizards" and partied at the wizard rock show following the screening. I won't go on much about either of these because many bands and attendees have done so elsewhere, and our feelings are similar to theirs (read namely the blog by The Whomping Willows).
Three of us - Marie-Eve (me), Annie, and Jacinthe - were able to make it to Boston. Our road trip together was just as awesome as the performances we saw. With our GPS "Gertrude" guiding our way, we were able to enjoy the ride, the wonderful Vermont scenery, and the wizard rock blaring from our stereo. It was all a great moment for the band. Spending time together, but also meeting other wrockers we admire and who inspire us (both personally and creatively).
I do have to say that both Draco and the Malfoys and Harry and the Potters blew me away. Their energy was out of this world - they gave their all to the fans. Very generous. We were very touched by their performance, especially of "Dunbledore" and "The Weapon" - thanks guys. The after-party with Brad Neely's hilarious live commentary was just awesome.
We truly felt the love.
I hope we can experience this again.
A vlog from the trip is coming shortly - make sure to check it out!
Cheers,
Marie-Eve
