I've been really out-of-it musically for awhile but there's projects afoot now (new Optiganally Yours and OperaZero stuff) so I've been trying to get myself inspired and unjaded again so I've been digging thru the archives. Alot of the music I do doesn't really see much light-of-day in any widely visible medium, so it's high time I start posting some things online. Here's a bunch of random stuff for you to check out, in various stages of done-ness.
Here's a set of three desert landscapes:
Desert Landscape #1 Desert Landscape #2 Desert Landscape #3 Related to these desert landscapes is this song, sung by my friend Erin Cronican:
Ulysses Here's a mashup I did for fun. Apple pie for anyone who can name ALL the songs used to assemble this (hint, there's sounds from probably like 15 different songs in there):
Come On Feel The Love Here's 3 video clips from the Gertrude Stein opera I wrote w/ Scott Feldsher, called
The World Is Round. These clips are from a workshop production in LA a couple years ago, so the staging is
really simple- it's more like a staged reading than anything. The entire production had just a 3 week rehearsal period including over an hours' worth of music so it's pretty good considering that. Oh yeah and the guy who shot the video generally had no idea what shots to get, so it's kinda random in that respect, but it's better than nothing. This is basically a work in progress that we hope to come back to again at some point, but you might enjoy this rough version anyway.
Which Little Girl Named Rose Either Or Neither Nor Oh Will Oh Will If you're interested in finding out more about this, check out
OperaZero. Here's something I did with Matt Lorenz starring Jim W. Hawkins:
Shakespeare Dot Com Here's a toy piano duet I wrote for the UCSD Toy Piano Festival. This is a midi mock-up using samples. The actual live performance sounded different than this, but I didn't get a good recording of that so until I get around to recording it, this version will have to suffice:
Beautiful Hat This is a Lucas & Friends thing I recently did for some sound-art installation somebody did in a bathroom in NYC. I mixed together a bunch of recordings found on home-made records from the 1940s:
Bathroom Music Here's a piece of minimalisticalism that was supposed to be performed live but it never came together:
Hexadecimal Oh and here's the shitteo I made for Kraftwerk's "Trans Europe Express" when me and Matt rode the SD Trolley a few weeks ago:
Trans Europe Express If anyone enjoys any of this stuff lemmeno I've got tons and tons and tons of backlog stuff I can post here. Actually,
tough- I'll probably post stuff whether anyone likes it or not.
