Anyways, it's the holidays, and there are still jingle bells, batman still smells, and Robin laid the biggest egg ever, ugh, freakin stinks. The bat-mobile lost its wheel, and well, the joker…Heath Ledger rules so I'm not goin there ( I wrote the first album by watching "10 Things I Hate About You" about 50 times. Good stuff.
But yes, it is the Holidays, and the calendar year is winding down ( I still mark my years ending and starting again by my birthday, but whatever )…so as some of you know, I freakin love YOUTUBE videos of people being awesome. Finally.......and just really quick going into a little explanation of the title of the album ( "Hometown Heroes" )... the thinking is....Jeff and I grew up in this small town in New Jersey called Madison. And in that town ( just like I figure you all had in your town ) there were these people ( maybe you were one of them ) who were just known...but only known in their hometown, during a certain era, for a certain something...whether it be "the guy who drives down the same street in front of the movie theater 512 times over the course of a Saturday night with some really bad music blasting from his rattling speakers, with like 14 to many people in a car that fits 4 max"...or "the person who everyone knew would go and get beer for everyone because he had a full grown beard at the age of 11 and that lonely liquor store at the end of the block didn't card him"...to the kid who told 3 people ( 2 of them didn't even live in the state ) that his parents were going away for the weekend, but somehow ended up having a party with the entire school there but didn't stop it because he found out that super hot girl that he had no shot in getting with was gonna be there so he weighed the consequences of having the party and decided, "hell yea, its worth it"....yea..I mean...I could go on, but really just anyone who made growing up in a small town fun, interesting, and not so sucky...this album is named after, and dedicated to YOU and all of your awesomeness. I know everyone has people like this they know and I feel like they never get the respect and credit they deserve. Plus over the Holidays I'm sure some of you will see one of those people and be like...ohhh my god " that's the girl who can put her whole FIST IN HER MOUTH"....well...if you could go up to that person for me, and let them know that someone named Zach Macko has dedicated an entire album to them...thanks!!
The new song "I'll Get You Back" is about one of those people, one of those nights, where nothing goes as planned but at the end of the night your happy that it didn't because if it did, then you never would have gotten to make out on the front steps because you got locked out of the house...stuff like that.
