So.  Geraldine Ferraro is an unapologetic racist.  Okay, I think we get that now.  No matter how many times she tries to pawn it off as "reverse racism" and that SHE’S being discriminated against as a woman because people found her remarks offensive, the fact remains that she’s an idiot.  And even those who would argue that she only made the remarks as an ill advised way of making Clinton (on whose campaign Ferraro used to work as a finance committee member) a victim, her 1988 quote about Jesse Jackson, saying that because of his "radical" views, "if Jesse Jackson were not black, he wouldn’t be in the race." pretty much lays that argument to rest.  So, yeah... Ferraro’s been racist for quite some time.  But so are the members of the media who have been harping on this story as much as the Spitzer scandal (quite a nice stew of Democratic hypocrisy that the "liberal media" has stirred up recently, eh folks?) and criticizing Ferraro (justifiably) for her idiotic remarks and even more idiotic defense.   What makes them racist?  Well, how about the fact that they keep thinking Barack Obama is a black man, how about that?   Here’s a fun fact:  Barack Obama’s mom was white.   His mother was white and his father was black.  So, by calling Barack Obama a black man, you are completely negating the ethnicity of his mother, thus you are a racist.  Which is why this whole controversy over Barack Obama getting the "black vote" is so freaking ridiculous.  HE’S NOT BLACK!!!  HE’S NOT WHITE!!!!  Now, if he was getting the "biracial vote", I could understand people talking about it, but he’s as much singularly colored as he is Muslim.  Which is to say, not at fucking all.

Geraldine Ferraro may have a certain point about Barack Obama getting more of a pass than Hillary, but it’s not because he’s "black", it’s because he’s Male!  Jesus Geraldine, you should have known better.   I mean, isn’t that what Senator Clinton has been saying ALL ALONG???  That she’s being treated unfairly by the mostly male-dominated media and political sphere simply because she doesn’t have a dangly-doo twixt her legs?   That’s what all her supporters think, and there may be some validity to that, but to diminish Barack Obama’s achievements because he’s "BLACK"?  For someone in the Democratic party to say that in 2008 is beyond comprehension.   Not only because it’s extremely polarizing within the party itself (and better left for the uber racists in the Republican party who have perfected it)  but because it’s simply fucking WRONG!

I get the point she was trying to make, and it’s a stupid point.  And when you dissect it with regards to his ACTUAL ethnicity, then it’s completely negating itself.  By calling him African-American, she’s negating the female contribution to his ethnicity, which in turn causes her comments to not only be racist, but gender biased, which is what she was attempting to argue against in the first place.

Seriously.... these are the people who get elected to office?

Vote Bryan Campbell to Senate in 2012.   Of course since I’m a white male, I probably won’t stand a chance.
