One thing heard by me for years in many countries and at least two continents is that radio is struggling in the last years competing with the digital world. Well, YEAH. Radio has/is/and probably will continue until death to be about Money/Capitalist/Stock Holders/Investors/Ratings/Power. Radio is not open places used to expose people to music they enjoy. It is about programming people to buy the Majors' newest single. Ireland understands it with SIX, a tele built, marketing driven, talentless project run by RTE a few years back.

If radio wants to compete with the digital world, they need to stop dragging their feet on playing Indie material. REAL independent artists on REAL independent labels. Why are college stations in North America the only ones playing multiple genre indie music on that continent, on a regular weekly rotation? Why do Europeans have to wait until all are asleep, before a DJ spins the new? (don't know radio in Asia or Africa). The digital world is THE PLACE to experience true NEW, long before a boardroom has decided if it is acceptable to promote or try to sell.

Yeah! Let's get rid of all the fricking dinosaurs out there who clog up the system and get real music back into the hands of the public!
