Hey kiddies,

Az here.  I've been overseas the past few weeks, and now I'm back and we're ready to roll.  Thought I'd write in with a few updates about the band.

The first biggest piece of news is that we've expanded our band to 4 members with the addition of Brendan Cook on 2nd guitars and BVox.  Cook's just started jamming with us and he'll be ready to go for our next show in late August...

...speaking of which, that show will be on Friday 22nd August @ The Excelsior Hotel in Surry Hills (Sydney).  The show will be a celebration of Belinda Carlisle's birthday, who will be turning a whopping 50 years old.  We'll be joined onstage by Major Keg, Epic Flagon from Canberra and a band from Sydney that we've yet to see perform before called Estah.  Doors open at 8pm and entry is $10 - although if you come to the show dressed as Belinda Carlisle, you'll get in for free.  That's a promise.  Look forward to catching up with you cross dressing fucks then.

As the subject also indicates, we'll be (finally) launching our very much delayed new CD next week on Monday 4th August.  Initially this cd was to be launched in December, right in time for Christmas, but then that whole collapsed lung business happened to me and I've had to take it easy through the first half of this year.

Up until now we haven't announced any details about the cd, so here we go:

The cd will be called "MYSPACEINVADERS" and will be a little pile of stuff we've gathered over the past few years, including three new studio tracks, including past songs from our setlist such as "Punk Rock Pirate" and the cover of The Bangles' "Walk Like An Egyptian".

We're looking forward to getting that to you all, so be here on MySpace on Monday, as we'll be launching the CD online as a FREE DOWNLOAD.  And for those who are bandwidth-challenged, we'll have copies of the CD on burnt discs at the show at the Excelsior to give away for free.

There's heaps more stuff going on in the background, including a new film clip which is in its early stages, and the impending release of a live album in October, but we'll save the details about that stuff for another day.  Keep your ears to the ground, we'll be in touch again real soon.

Cheers big ears

YAAAYYYYY!
I'm gonna go all misty now ... having a nostalgic moment ... I'm back at O'Donoghues watching that band comp they did many moons ago ...
Beautiful Day made me sit up and take notice, but it was Walk Like an Egyptian that hooked me - BEST PUNK COVER EVER!!!!!!!!! Yay! Yay! Yay!

But I can't make the Excelsior :(
I'll be down at Kapooka being THE most embarrassing mother in Australian military history, slobbering all over Tim as he finally gets released from basic training.

His platoon has a theme song - Lean On Me! Eeeeuuuueeeerrrrrkkkk! My poor baby!
(You'll be pleased to know, while showering with 40 other naked men, he prefers to sing Facetious)

So think of us at the Ex - by the time you come on stage we will be filthy rotten drunk and staggering about the streets of Wagga warbling "whipped cream on my goldfish.." at the tops of our lungs!
