Sometimes I am so busy living my life that I forget to jot down my thoughts. Well, actually.. I (if I am honest about it) am being a bit selfish, because I am not "making enough time". It is time- consuming to post a blog. Especially one that includes material from several sources.. photos.. and other "stuff".
I am going to make up for this today, I hope. You see, there have been several things that I recently discovered that have shaken my previously "settled" sense of how the "Uni~verse" is moving along. I had believed that here in the United States, that issue of racial equality was but a nasty blot upon the consciousness of humanity. Then I watched a documentary last evening that totally blew me away! Here is a news story about it:

I am ashamed of my own ignorance, as I assumed in this day and age, that everyone had the same opportunities. It still baffles me, quite a lot. How can people continue to believe that one group of people are any "better" or "worse" than another??? Thank goodness for individuals like Morgan Freeman- who gently encourage, and provide financial and moral support, to help communities actually change their mistaken belief system.
Here is another news story that has me "spinning". I am putting the story itself here, as I think it worthy of being read. To me, it says quite a lot about the current "state of affairs" and how awful the economy must be. When I learn about things like this, I find myself wishing (briefly) that I actually had the finances to do something- rather than merely making a blog about it. In my mind, I would happily purchase this house- and make it into a museum.. with the funds raised, I would fund and support those who have been orphaned due to HIV/ AIDS. As these kids get older, they are really going to need support, as they try to juggle navigating adulthood.. and parenthood by themselves. Dreams CAN become reality.. so.. perhaps someone will recognise the significance of this particular building.. and put it to the use that Gandhi would be satisfied with.
Gandhi S Africa house up for sale
A house in South Africa where Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi lived in the early 1900s has been put up for sale.
The house's owner says she has failed to find an institution interested
in preserving the building's legacy, so she is selling it on the open
market.
Gandhi is thought to have lived there for three years
from 1907 - when he began to formulate his philosophy of non-violent
resistance.
He lived in South Africa for 21 years, working as a lawyer and activist.
He fought for the right of Indians in the country to be treated as
citizens - a feat he eventually achieved before returning to his
homeland.

American artist Nancy Ball has lived in Gandhi's Johannesburg house for 25 years, but is now moving away.
She told South African paper the Times that Indians who had visited the
house had always found it an interesting experience.
"We believe he left a lot of his peace here. It's a very special place," she said.
She attempted to drum up interest in the house among academics and the
Indian community in South Africa, but says she has failed and will now
sell on the private market.

On a different note, I recently went to a local beach- and attended my very first viewing of.. sand castles! I am putting the slide show here, as perhaps there are some of you (dear readers) who might be interested.
I do hope that your life is going well, and that you are finding joy, hope, and encouragement. Finding a way to make a connection with other people is pretty neat- and.. so is "juggling time"! *LOL* To you, dear reader, I wish you a day (or evening) filled to the brim with "Happy Sparkle Thoughts"- and 1 Tablespoon of compassion added for good measure.
