September 16, 2009 - Wednesday

Current mood:  peaceful
Category: Life
Ah- yet another sunny day in San Diego.    I dunno how long it has been since we have had rain, at least five months, I think.  Funny- I used to take clouds in the sky for granted.. those fluffy, billowy harbingers of a fresh sprinkling of that precious substance (otherwise known as water!).  Right now I am also remembering how many different places I have lived, and just being grateful for where I am today.  It has been eleven months that I have been here, and it really doesn't seem possible.

Nothing much to say, just trying to type is a bit painful- but?  I have to because I am definitely not wanting to use pain as an excuse to prevent me from "doing stuff".  *sigh*  I know that another trip to my rheumatologist is in the near- future, and yet another round of stronger medication will be suggested.  It's a balancing act, this business of life.  Weighing carefully the nasty side effects of medication with the improved "range of motion" of joints.  Everyone has their own way of dealing with pain.. and what their tolerance level is.  I am thinking that my tolerance level is pretty high- but chronic pain does take a toll on the body.  I'm not trying to whine, nor am I looking for sympathy, just explaining why I have not "been present" on the computer as much these past several months.  My hands (BOTH of them now) are betraying me.. feels like they have been smashed in a car door repeatedly- with every single joint screaming and on fire.  Relafen is pointless, so on to the next round of miracle medicine for a bit of relief.

On a more positive note, I have loads of time to be noticing things!    Here is a photo I took the other morning- I liked it because of the shadows.

And a trip downtown into a local store yielded these jaw- dropping treasures, entirely covered in tiny seed beads.  I wanted to take several photographs of the chairs inside, but was informed that I could not.  There were six chairs in total.. which just stopped me in my tracks, as I was stunned with how beautiful they are.

Anyway.  I do hope that you (dear reader(s?)) are having a good day- and managing to do whatever it is that helps you transcend whatever might otherwise keep you from smiling. No worries.. "Happy Sparkle Thoughts" are still cascading.. straight to whomever is needing positive energies, and encouragement!

1PM: A little fun story as well.  For the past two weeks or so, a little hummingbird has been camped out on the front porch.  She appears around 7AM.. and stays perched upon the windchimes- flying away if someone approaches, but comes right back until dusk.  She has quite a lot to say, and chirps merrily all day long!  I finally was just able to get a decent photo, so I decided to add it in this blog.  Patience does pay, it seems!

Sorry to hear that your body has been troubling you so much. I was hoping there would be some improvement now that you are in such a warm sunny place. 11 months already? How time flies. Nice to hear from you.

All the best, Jill x
