OK, so it's been a little bit since I've done one of these but y'all are gonna get hit up with a few of them given all the events going on over the next couple of weeks.

Danielle and I met up at Hard Rock to catch AAR and FOB.  I had heard about this show months ago and knew it was on the same night as Train @ The Palms but I've seen Train a few times and I've never caught these two so I figured I'd check it out.  There were actually 4 bands on the bill but we decided to eat instead of see the first two.

When we finally went in to The Joint, AAR was about to get started. I walked in there really only knowing Dirtly Little Secret but I found myself knowing and liking a couple other songs in their set.  They played a short set but man did they have some energy!  The lead had some issues with some of the higher notes but he covered it well.  To quote Mr Randy Jackson "Yo Dawgs it was aiiight.  It was a little pitchy in some parts and it wasn't my favorite performance of yours but I still liked ya."  There were some crazy folks in the venue that were body surfing but they they started getting flipped up in the air.  I'm talking 2-3 ft of flipped up in the air type stuff.  One guy looked like he was literaly launched from the top of the crowd.

Fall Out Boy came out after a short set change.  They had all kinds of videos running as they played their set.  I ended up sending a "You've Been Gambitized!!!" message out to the Hard Rock through their Verizon text thing.  That's MGM and now Hard Rock so Mandalay has to be next!   Anyhow, they sounded much better than that poor performance I saw on Saturday Night live several weeks ago.  However, the guitar player kept doing the same couple of moves and spit sprayed water or something the entire time.  That and the bass player had something to say between every single song that I couldn't always get into the groove of enjoying the music.  They did make up for it with some good transitions in the end.

Overall I enjoyed the two bands but I have to mention that FOB had a slight break in their set and they had some guy come out and attempt to pound an entire 2 liter of Mountain Dew.  I'm a Mountain Dew addict and I can't do that by any stretch.  He made it half way through and uhh... he had some... uh... rentention issues with it.  Good thing I was far enough away to not hear it or see it actually happen otherwise my night would have been cut short.

Anyhow, Saturday is Carlos Mencia with Sami, Danielle, Stacey, Dave, Jolene, and April.  We might even be going to The Foundation Room afterwards.  I've already heard a lot about this place so I hope I get a chance to see it because I don't have any contacts to get in there on my own.    It's all about who ya know.

Look for the next one this weekend.

LOVE EVERYBODY!!!
