Well it has been a while since I last let people know what I have been up to.
I am going to gloss over some stuff pretty quick here. Did a show with Canada's party band trooper and then went off and to do the Jazz Fest in Saskatoon. There was some absolutely amazing acts at the Jazz Festival in Saskatoon and I must say it is quite well organized.
Favorite act was the Jimmy Cobb and the So What Band. These guys played and studied under Miles Davis.
I did get a "best sound ever" comment from a award winning Jazz Flute player
Jane Bunnett Embracing Voices. She had one every music award a musician could win and then some. She was pretty cool to work with too.
So it was nice that the festival went so well. Near the end of the Jazz Fest I would take off to Edmonton and then Calgary for a show with Adam Gregory at the Stampede in Calgary Alberta. For those of you who don't know this is the worlds largest Rodeo, and it is a total party there.
We would come back to Edmonton after that show and then I was off for my friends stag party and back to Saskatoon.
Soon after getting back to Saskatoon I was off again to Regina SK. For the Craven Country Music Jamboree. It is the worlds greatest country music festival. Tones of Country music and huge names. I think George Strait was the big headlining act at the festival this year.
My Favorite act to work with on this festival was the Kentucky Headhunters. They seriously kick ass and I had a great time working with all of them.
After Craven I was back home for a couple days of recovering and was then off yet again. This time I was off to Edmonton with Susan for my friend Chris's wedding. We showed up a day early for the rehearsal and to setup the sound system for Chris's wedding reception. I would learn how to Greek Dance and was also part of the wedding party. Chris you married a great lady, wish you guys the best.
After the wedding there was a bunch of returning things to do with Susan and then she was off back to Saskatoon. During this time I would stay in Edmonton because Adam just happened to have a show in Edmonton at Captial Ex. I would spend a day or two in town after that and then we were off for Ontario.
The gigs in Ontario went alright. Both nights we would open for Terri Clark while out there. In Fergus the catering was unreal and in Mattawa the B&B they set us up in was unreal. A real treat for sure.
After the show in Mattawa we had to trek back to the airport where we would spend way to many hours waiting to get home.
Now that I am home I am getting ready again for some more shows. I am off to Alberta for Death Fest. It is a big marathon thing with bands playing I guess. After that I am off to work on the Edmonton Folk Music Festival a gig with Adam in the middle of that and more Folk Music Festival.
Also during this time my company has started suppling Line Audio products. Pretty sweet call me in you are interested in some. www.lineaudio.se
Well I am off!
