Sonus Quartet accompanied Stevie Wonder at the premier of his musical work commissioned by the Library of Congress on Monday, Feb. 23 in Washington D.C. The invitation-only concert to premier the work was held in the Library of Congress Coolidge Auditorium, a compact space designed for chamber music -- and the piece will comprise of a chamber orchestra, involving strings, woodwinds, and percussion. Stevie Wonder joins a group of eminent composers who have received the Library commissions ranging from Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, and Bela Bartok to Paquito D’Rivera and Cecil Taylor. We were honored to be a part of it!
