October Come Again

This dream one day happened
Inside it came as this,
The memory still lingers,
Octobers fleeting kiss.

Tuck deeply under downing
In memory so red,
As dawning in the sun glow,
With recall in my head.

Shake off the chill
I rise again,
Come, load my stove with wood,
How long 'till days of dawning
Octobers golden good.

Years of replication,
Seasons, cycles, times go by,
When short-lived you are with me,
And my dreams fill with rhyme.

Touching anticipation
Well in Septembers bound,
The turning of the season,
Again is coming 'round.

Embracing, hold on to it,
October come again,
In crowning of falls glory,
When life is still within.

Its sparkle of forever,
Holds me at peace within,
As I reach to see the glory,
October come again.

So here's the sum told story,
How it came to me,
In crowning of his glory,
Short-lived eternity.

October, sweet October,
Have you deserted me?

October in the mountain,
Rustic blue, subtle hue.
In splendor of the changing,
Collecting with the dew.
Bounty in the harvesting,
This memory of you.

The rushing of the chilling breeze,
The standing of the elm,
To hear the owl calling,
Beneath the harvest moon.
The fragrant smell of spices,
Which lingers into spring,
The quieting of the songbird,
A'waiting her to sing.

Deserted into pumpkin…
Deserted into blue…
Deserted into feeling…
Deserted far from view…
October…I lost you.

Yet, dazzling stands the maple,
With groaning bends the oak,
The scurry of the fox squirrel,
Around the Hickory Folk.

The fragrant smell of spices,
Linger in a dream,
And shining of the sunbeam
As angles new and strange,
The touching of its sun-ray,
So few do ascertain.

Held in caress against dream forest floor,
Hiding in my heart again,
Amid fern, forevermore.
Its special touch now disappears,
Short-lived eternity,
Yet nothing takes away,
Octobers glow for me.

Take away its bounty,
Fill its every use,
You can't out use the memory,
Its deserted scent of you.

October, sweet October,
All golden shining hue,
You've stayed with me through everything,
I can't desert you.
