Hello all. It grieves me to say that after 4 and a half years, The Kazem has finally closed it's doors for good.

It was fun while it lasted. From the Epidemic to the Gallery to the Wearhouse. We put all our effort into keeping an under 18 venue alive in Brentwood but in the end, could not do it.

Sadly, as of late, we could not pay our rent because not enough people supported us by paying to get in. Even with GREAT volunteers that were there every week like Eden, Will, Mike, Katy, Briegh, Brett, Ryan, and Kathy, it was still not enough.

I want to thank you all who showed their love and support for the local music scene in these past years. Man, as I type in all these bands and artists I remember the shows and how good the times were.

- Joe and the Kazem Crew

To all the bands and Artists - Thank You...

Hah joe, its obvious you just looked at old flyers for that list because theres a lot of repeats. But anyways, thats a lot of bands, and even more good times and fond memories.

The Kazem may be gone, but that doesnt mean the music is dead around here yet.

Thanks for everything you've done joe, and I hope to see you at the house sometime...like this friday.

damn, i cant believe its gone. the first show i went to was when The Scurvies played back in january. that was one of the best nights of my life. i always had fun whenever i came here. and i have a lot of good memories about this place. i hope you guys come back as soon as you can, cuz theres no way youre gone forever. although theres a venue called The House by big bee lumber and el camino restaurant, im still gonna miss you guys.
but you have to come back!! please?!

Damn. Reading this almost brings me to tears. But we have to remember that it's not over. Shutting down it's doors doesn't stop the scene. Now it's just onto the next half of its' story.

Thanks Joe, for all of the hard work, dedication, heart and soul you've put into it, as well as the incredible sacrifices you've had to make.

It's meant and done a lot for the community, and for the scene. We will never forget.
