Ah, now I see why people like blogs. You can use them to get something off your back and no one will contradict you. Let's get started.

There are two problems with getting approved as a Four Slicks friend.

The first is that I am really lazy and find it impossible to keep ahead of Friend Requests. If you are in this category, sorry about that!

The second problem is that there are more and more friend requests that bug me.
I wish good luck to the following, but I am not interested in adding them as "friends":

1. Musicians who have nothing to do with punk/garage/rock n roll.

2. Musicians who are looking to make it big and get signed.

3. Businesses.

4. In particular, all of the above with (for example) 30,000 "friends".

Ironically, the concept of MySpace is all about advertising. Either advertising yourself (to get chicks, be cool, etc.) or advertising your band (to get chicks, get fans, get shows, be cool, etc.). And let's admit that I profit from it too, by my presence on MySpace and my participation.

But just like it bugs me in the world of punk rock when the business side exceeds the fun side, I would rather turn down this kind of "friends" on MySpace than have more of them.

I wish you good luck, and maybe your stuff is even good!

But if you like the music of the Four Slicks (thanks!), rather than looking to exploit our extremely feeble influence on a few alcoholic French rockers, please add us from your personal MySpace rather than your "business" or "band" one.
