Space Ship News.com.au Presents:
Fresh from a national tour launching his latest EP
Bash Myself, Perth's most outlandish and energetic entertainer
TOMAS FORD is set to headline a diverse showcase of home grown talent in what promises to be the most interesting birthday party the Queen will ever have.
Sunday
27th September (The Queen's Birthday Long Weekend) will see the
Rosemount Hotel in North Perth explode in a line-up of hip-hop, indie-folk, alternative rock and electro-punk featuring up-and-comers,
OFF BEAT ANTICS along with
MATHAS plus
SAM CARMODY AND A TOWN CALLED PANIC.
At this
FREE event, fans will find
Tomas Ford at the top of his game. So far, 2009 has seen him shocking audiences across the country with the
Big Day Out's Lilyworld, performing as special guest on
Birds Of Tokyo's sold out April tour and taking out a
WAMi Award for
Best Electronic Producer.
Ford has developed a sizable cult following both in Perth and interstate and has performed with the likes of Architecture In Helsinki, Snax, Bang Gang, Love Is All, Curse Ov Dialect, Theatre Of Disco, Grafton Primary and The Presets, and on the Big Day Out Lilyworld for the last four years in a row.
He enters, resplendent in sequins, black denim and sparkling make-up. He shakes hands with the crowd, says some polite greetings and makes some small talk. Then he's all over the room. It's sudden; the music's changed... it's an unusual combination of electro, glam and punk, but it's definitely got you in a party mood.
Tomas Ford's Birthday Bash for The Queen will be no exception. Don't expect to be just another audience member - you'll always have a part to play in Ford's performances.
And if that doesn't tempt you, there's always the birthday cake!
