Lyrics to all the new songs from our New Samples CD “Rehearsing for life”

Cheers,

Sean

                        Brown Eyes In The Sun

I want to live- where the horses still run free

Gazing through the canyons at the faces on the trees

Living off the land where golden eagles soar

Resting by the river listen to it roar

Brown eyes in the sun

Brown eyes in the sun

Brown eyes in the sun

But can I fly away?

They made me bring the wagons and the wagons had the guns

The teepees been on fire since the early morning sun

One buffalo still standing as she prays in no ones name

They ask her not to worry as the sky begins to rain

 Brown eyes in the sun

Brown eyes in the sun

Brown eyes in the sun

But can I fly?

But can I fly away?

Brown eyes in the sun

Brown eyes in the sun

Brown eyes in the sun

 HEAVEN

The color of skin on a crying face

A look so sad you can’t find your place

Walk with me beneath the sky

Never ask or wonder why

You call this heaven?

You call this heaven?

A painted picture of the city at night

The paint is dripping from a brush that’s held to tight

A baby’s crying for its mother not to be alone

Welcome to a world that’s mending while the rips are sewn

You call this heaven

You call this heaven

School is out but only for the ones with silver spoons

Counting sheep like they were lions from the darkest rooms

We killed the earth and along the way we choked the sea

Spilling hatred far below the roots of every tree

                 My Guitar

Woke up today and grabbed my guitar

Headed to the beach in the godfathers car

Set us a fire and threw on some wood

Theres nothing like the warmth it feels so good

Were just singing our songs

Were not doing anything wrong

Leave alone we said to one of the cops

An out of work actor wearing Hollywood props

Up against the wall and show some id

You forget to mention that this is the land of the free

 Were just singing our songs

Were not doing anything wrong

Were just playing our songs

Were not doing anything wrong

Woke up today and grabbed my guitar

Headed to the beach in the godfathers car

The bad seed in the garden of love

From the devil it grows to the good lord above

Were just singing our songs

Were not doing anything wrong

Were just playing our songs

Were not doing anything wrong

                                           SAD WORLD

 Whistle train

 Take me to the end

 I v had many days

 Spent without a friend

What a sad world because no one knows the answers

What a sad world because no one has the answers

 Im making one more stop

For all the things I’ve lost

 I making one more stop

For a few things that I forgot

What a sad world because no one has the answers

What a sad world because no one has the answers

  Whistle train

 Take me to the end

 I v had many days

 Spent without a friend

What a sad world because no one has the answers

                  TOO YOUNG TO DIE

The man out on the street today made a stand

He says his life was filled with love and hope

Then pointed at the trees he used to swing on

And asked where the child within has gone

So you say your soldiers are strong enough

I say there feathers in the wind

No wars to win no seeds to sow

No swings to twist and turn

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust

Is that the truth at all?

Ever after will never be the same

 But I’ll keep searching anyway

When I  look at you upside down

From a place iv never been

I dream of the waves and hold you in

Look at the way the clouds

Are sifting through a clear blue sky

Remember now you’re free

But you were too young to die

One more time just to be held

Any stranger’s arms will do

Ever after will never be the same

But ill keep searching anyway

When did the winter freeze?

Who knows the time of year?

I dream of the waves and hold you in

Look at the way the clouds

Are sifting through a clear blue sky

Remember now you’re free

But you were too young to die

The man out on the street today made a stand

He said his life was made of love and hope

Then he pointed at the trees he used to swing on

And wondered where the child within has gone

I   heard the funeral march

Watching from far above

I dream of the waves and hold you in

Look at the way the clouds

Are sifting through a clear blue sky

Remember now you’re free

But you were too young to die

Maybe now you’re free but you were too young to die

Maybe now you’re free but you were too young to die

4th fret I think

                         DAD

Dad did you ever wonder

Who I grew up under

Can you even remember?

Christmas in December

The years are passing by

With just new ways to cry

Unable to explain

The troubles and the pain

 It’s always getting harder

The past is getting farther

If someday I go somewhere

You will always be there

But you’ve grown old alone

But now and then we phone

Theirs never much to say

As voices fade away

Dad, do you know where I am?

Or if I had my own plan?

Would you ever believe me?

That I loved you deeply

The years are passing by

With just new ways to cry

Unable to explain

The troubles and the pain

                             Moves me like a river

Snow against the windshield

Driving back alone

Windy city Wheatfield’s

Frozen to the bone

Running through the headlights

A truck without a home

Shelters me on cold nights

I loved you on the phone

Hold me if it’s painful

She sleeps on beds of nails

I told her I could love her

But her body seems so frail

Hold me if it’s painful

She sleeps on beds of nails

I told her I could love her

I told her I could love her

She moves me like a river

Strung out at every door

Only friends that left for ever

Will be coming back for more

In the morning through her eyes

Only darkness swirls in hope

Something told me all along

That she’ll never find her way

She moves me like a river

Strung out at every door

Only friends that left for ever

Will be coming back for more

In the morning through her eyes

Only darkness swirls in hope

Something told me all along

That she’ll never find her way

6th fret

                          Never’s

I never cared too much about

Everyone who was running around

I never stopped to say goodbye

Or look real deep into your eyes

I never stayed in one place for long

I never thought I would sing this song

I never knew how to be set free

Or   take the time to really see

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I never wavered in the wind

I never end what I begin

Butterflies in green and gold

I never watched there wings unfold

I never had enough to say

I never thought there was a way

When all the world has settled down

I never thought I would leave this town

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I never stood out in the rain

I never held the horse’s mane

I never stopped to say goodbye

Or look real deep into your eyes

I never walked you to your home

A dozen roses have come and gone

I never said how I love you

To many pieces wrapped in blue

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

I have too many nevers

                  SUPER STAR

No one can be your happiness

Inside your wilderness

Now I know were one of a kind

So I never want to go home

Find the light that guides in every soul

Shine it far to see

Because you have never seen cry

Doesn’t mean I never do

All these days end up on calendars

And faded magazines

Like on an ancient wall

When gods would all run free

When did you become a super star?

In a Neon world

These machines can be destructive

As they chew around the world

I remember 1970

When it was cool to be

Someone without a home

Unlike a rolling stone

Does the earth revolve around the moon?

Like a spinning wheel

That’s our home above the trees

And below the melting sees

No one can be your happiness

Inside your wilderness

Now I know were one of a kind

So I never want to go home

3rd fret G-Am-C

                 Young and Free

So Long ago in a summer field

The grass would flow like a turning wheel

The day as long as your pony tails

Our bodies young and tough as nails

We used to be so young and free

We tried to fool the world that no one sees

Not a thing to do not a place to be

Un troubled lives for you and me

Counting stars across a summer sky

As each one falls into our eyes

We used to be so young and free

We tried to fool the world that no one sees

We used to be so young and free

We tried to fool the world that no one sees

And now the world is crying out

For no god hears a silent shout

I need to run through those fields again

Just one more time before the end

We used to be so young and free

We tried to fool the world that no one sees

We used to be so young and free

We tried to fool the world that no one sees

We used to be so young and free

We tried to fool the world that no one sees

We used to be so young and free

We tried to fool the world that no one sees

are there linear notes to these songs?  I still need a copy of this CD.  Perhaps I will go buy one tomorrow.
