First off, I wanna say sorry about the absence of songs on my page. Don't worry...everything is groovy! At my manager's request, we have gone into a temporary "media blackout" while we work on the record and put on the finishing touches. New and rockin' tracks will be back up soon!
In the recording world, it's been a crazy couple weeks. So amazing how the studio literally becomes a black hole, sucking in time and energy and deadlines at warp speed. We've been having so much fun making this record: having exciting visitors and guest artists in the studio, working until delirium at 2am, laughing over the silliest and most inane late night jokes and squeezing in very scary last minute fixes and overdubs...but its all gone by so fast!! Where does the time go? Like I said, it disappears. But good thing I caught a lot of it on camera!
We started mixing on Wednesday. Celso usually starts around 6am at Dave's house, getting the song up on the board. Then Dave Trumfio comes in around noon and Kershenbaun around 6pm, and they go until at least midnight or 1. Guy, manager extraordinaire, and I usually come by around 10 or 11 to check out the process and add any extraneous notes. The songs are so huge, and the guys are so dedicated to getting them just perfect...my heros!
My mom and sis flew out to lend their angelic voices to the record a couple weeks ago, and boy did we have fun! Check out some pictures from our wild exploits and more:
